A Perfect Match

Blue-Accessories

Ann Taylor Colorblocked Perforated Leather Clutch / Juicy Couture Blue Suede Pumps

I’m not one of those people that always has their shoes matched perfectly to their bag. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but a perfect match isn’t that big of a priority for me on most days.  However, there are some items (often from different stores and designers) that go so well together that you can’t help, but smile when you see them in outfit form. After finding a couple perfect matches during one of my many late nights of online shopping, I knew I needed to show them off.  When it comes to love, there may not be that many perfect matches, but in fashion, it gives me some piece of mind to know that the combinations are endless.

Happy Easter Socialites!  It’s been a beautiful spring weekend in New York City.  I throughly enjoyed walking across town on Saturday in the newly emerged sunshine. After seeing the Empire State Building lit up like an Easter egg all weekend with pretty pastels for spring, I was inspired to curate my favorite pastel spring fashions.

Seeing Unicorns

Fashion is all about fantasy.  So I have no problem admitting that I live in a fantasy world where everyday is an opulent affair.  I’m not crazy or anything.  It’s not like I don’t know about the real world.  I even pretend to live in it from time to time.  So when I began seeing unicorns everywhere during my late nights spent engaging in social media and online shopping, I realized just how wonderful my world of fantasy and fashion truly is.

Here are some of my unicorn findings:

1.  Ted Baker Strapless Unicorn Print Dress: Ted Baker is by far one of my favorite designers.  In a storybook way, this unicorn dress truly makes a statement.

2.  Unicorn Ring From Boticca: Who isn’t looking for a good cocktail ring these days?  I’m kind of digging this unicorn one.

3.  Twinkle Living Unicorn Reflection Pillow: Throw pillows are an easy way to add a pop of color to any room.  I like the bright orange in this one and of course the unicorns.  When it comes to sophisticated design, it’s good to add something youthful to the decor.

4.  Dorothy Perkins Pink Unicorn Jumper: Lately, I’ve been a huge fan of Dorothy Perkins’ chic, yet affordable designs.  She’s basically the British H&M.  Love this whimsical weekend sweater for late fall.

5.  ModCloth Prance Party Necklace: This is a great vintage-looking necklace for those who want to keep it unicorn.  ModCloth always has the funnest accessories.

6.  Alexander McQueen Unicorn Skull Flower Clutch: I always save the best for last.  You can never talk fantasy and fashion without the House of McQueen.  In my fantasy world, this unicorn clutch sits elegantly on a shelf in the walk-in closet of my penthouse apartment.

Alice in Fashionland

Whenever I embark on a choice leading to an insane series of events, I often refer to it as falling down the rabbit hole.   But, ever since I moved to New York City, I feel that all I have to do to fall down the rabbit hole is to walk outside my door.  For this reason, I was so happy to see that Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland was on TV over the weekend.  I’d hadn’t seen it since it came out and the film was just as inspiring as it was when I first saw it.  I really love what Tim Burton did with Lewis Carroll’s psychedelic story about taking control of your own destiny.  Plus, I love the Victorian style fashion.  Someday I’ll write a book about my crazy encounters and experiences in New York, but today, I created some looks inspired by the mythical Alice and her adventures in Wonderland.

Alice in Accessories!  Here are some stylish Alice in Wonderland-inspired necklaces from ModCloth:
