When it comes to fashion, it’s nearly impossible to find an outfit that’s both elegant and comfortable. Sneakers are handy and effortless, but who says they can’t be elegant and stylish as well? The sneakers and dress trend has really become popular and for a good reason – it looks amazing and feels even better.
For those who are still not sure how to pair up sneakers with dresses and skirts, here are a few easy tips to try.
Make it shine
The best way to make a statement is to keep things simple and emphasize a single thing: such as statement jewelry, lipstick and of course – shoes or sneakers. Wear all black: tights, a skirt, a jacket, a hoodie and a bag and in the end simply wear brightly colored sneakers. Add bright lipstick and a messy bun or a casual French plait and you’re ready to own the streets!

In the Northeast, transitioning your wardrobe into fall and eventually winter is no simple task. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve put all of my summer clothes neatly away only to come head to head with an 80 degree day in late October. So I’ve since learned to transition into fall slowly and stylishly.
Part of making a slow stylish transition into the colder months is to pair your new fall pieces with your summer favorites. For this fab pre-fall look, I combined my new Old Navy Felt Floppy Hat and Old Navy T Strap Platform Clogs with an Aztec Print Dress from Express. New York Fashion Week has once again come to an end. While part of me wishes I was going on to London, Paris and Milan to see the rest of the spring collections, I’m excited to once again resume daily workouts, Sunday morning brunches and return to a normal sleep schedule. While summer is traditionally the time to make a much-needed pilgrimage to the Hamptons or the Jersey Shore, sometimes the most relaxing weekend plans are no plans at all. I’ve grown to love my relaxing unscheduled summer weekends in the city. This past weekend, I went to Roosevelt Island for the first time and fell in love with the wildflowers.

I custom designed it from their incredible selection of colors and patterns. Being me, of course I picked the preppiest design, but you can pick one that best fits your personality. To top it off, I’m wearing my fav Juicy Couture sunglasses that I got back in 2009. I originally bought them because I loved Nicole Richie’s big sunglasses look and they fit my face perfectly.
