New Year’s Eve Glam!

New Year’s Eve is all about the glamour! And by glamour I mean a sequined, sparkly glittery outfit topped with a glass of champagne. However, no matter what you’re wearing remember first and foremost to party like it’s 1999, but keep it classy.

New Year's Dress

This glamourous golden look, started with a fab find at Bloomingdale’s. On a whim I picked up this Aqua Gold Metallic Knit Fit & Flare Dress for under $40 and paired it with a French Connection clutch I had decorated with my blog name at New York Fashion Week, my favorite Star Power by Spanx High Waist Shaping Tights (very slimming), my Kendra Scott Naomi Two Finger Ring Adjustable Ring and my Grandmother’s vintage jewelry. To keep up the glam I put on Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipstick and painted my nails with CND Vinylux Grommet.

New York Fashion Week Wrap Up!

New York Fashion Week has once again come to an end. While part of me wishes I was going on to London, Paris and Milan to see the rest of the spring collections, I’m excited to once again resume daily workouts, Sunday morning brunches and return to a normal sleep schedule. Here are some of the highlights from the past few days of Fashion Week. I’m sure February will be even more fab!

Runway Fashion Week Michael Costello

I loved the perfectly flowing movement in Michael Costello’s SS16 collection inspired by feminine decadence.

Fashion Shenzhen New York Fashion Week

Bold eyeshadow colors were a huge beauty trend on the runway this season. Here it is at Fashion Shenzhen.

New York City Central Park

I went to the top of Hearst Tower for Seventeen Magazine’s preview of essie’s new fall colors and saw this amazing view of Central Park.

Essie Nail Polish Fall Colors Seventeen Magazine

I totally digged essie’s new fall colors…

Essie Candy Bar Nail Polish

and their sweet candy bar!

NYC fine dining

In between shows, lounges and parties where there’s rarely that much food, my friend Kristi (Currentlycrushing.com) and I managed to squeeze in a nice dinner. I hope to visit her in L.A. soon!

Aspiring Socialite French Connection Clutch

I finished off New York Fashion Week in the most stylish way possible – with a customized French Connection clutch!

French Connection: Make a Scene

After Afternoon Tea

As a creative way to promote their spring 2013 line, French Connection is bringing out the Lena Dunham in all of us with their Make A Scene initiative.  Now, fashionistas and amateur filmmakers alike can put together scenes from French Connection’s Spring 2013 campaign choosing the perfect beginning, middle, and end.  Users can also add special effects and select a soundtrack to add a personal touch.  Once the 60 second video is complete, all participants are then asked to share their finished film with as many people as possible through social media.  The film with the most shares will win an incredible all-expense paid trip to the Sydney 2013 Film Festival in June.  Runner up prizes include $500 and $1,000 shopping sprees.

I had a blast making my directorial debut with the short film entitled After Afternoon Tea.  It’s a story told in reverse taking the viewer back in time with the first scene being the last and the last scene displaying what occurred at the very beginning.  I guess that’s my film style.  I wanted to bring out the sinister side of the privileged life so I played dark music in the background to give the audience a feeling that something out of the ordinary is about to happen in paradise.  If you want to see me blogging from Sydney in June, check out my movie and be sure to share it across your social networks as much as you possibly can.  I know I’m bias, but I’m kind of obsessed with my newly created indie film starring French Connection‘s 2013 Spring Collection and some insanely good-looking people!

Kate Middleton in French Connection

Though I admit that I wasn’t crazy about Kate Middleton’s official portrait (I don’t think it did her justice), that doesn’t make her amazing style any less fabulous.  What makes her style legendary is that it’s simple and attainable even to those of us who aren’t exactly royalty.  So I was super excited when it was confirmed that the Duchess of Cambridge dawned the Sub Silky Tie Top by French Connection for her official royal portrait.  For the everyday girl, this is the perfect top for the office or other business casual occasion.

French Connection Inspiration & Mystery

French Connection U.S. has teamed up with Warner Bros. Pictures to promote the studio’s upcoming release of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Beginning on November 7th, all French Connection U.S. retail locations will display Sherlock Holmes-inspired looks in store windows as homage to the film and the brand’s British roots. Who knew that French Connection is actually a British company? But, El Corte Inglés (The English Cut) is Spanish so I guess it makes sense.

You can also enter a sweepstakes starting on November 7th within retail stores for a chance to win a free trip to NYC to partake in a private screening of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows before it is released in theatres on December 16th. If you can’t make it to a store, entry into the sweepstakes is also available to consumers through French Connection’s ecommerce site. I saw the first Sherlock Holmes film in theaters and left having no idea what went on in the entire film. But, what’s fashion without a little mystery?
