New Year’s Eve is all about the glamour! And by glamour I mean a sequined, sparkly glittery outfit topped with a glass of champagne. However, no matter what you’re wearing remember first and foremost to party like it’s 1999, but keep it classy.
Just in time for the September runway shows across New York, London, Paris and Milan, Chanel released a new collection of Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow quads inspired by their iconic tweeds. In order to celebrate these amazing shades in way only fitting of Chanel, I set off to the makeup counter at the 59th St. Bloomingdale’s to style my eyes with InStyle Beauty Director, Kahlana Barfield and Chanel National Makeup Artists (NMAs) John Fussell and Sterling Williams.
Using the Les 4 Ombres Quadra in Tissé Vénitien, Chanel Ebene Eyeliner and Le Volume de Chanel Noir Mascara, the incredibly talented Chanel makeup artist Reanna Godfrey (ask for her at Bloomingdale’s), transformed my eyes into the ultimate smokey eye look. The green hues in the Tissé Vénitien quad, put a nautical spin on the traditional smokey eye. I even mentioned feeling like a mermaid at one point. When the look was complete, Chanel National Makeup Artist John Fussell pointed out that the colors in the palette matched the vibrants blues and greens in my eyes perfectly. So in a magical way, it was almost like they never closed even when I blinked.
As a blue eyed girl, I’m always looking for new ways to bring out my unique eye color and nothing beats Chanel’s beautifuly long-lasting shades. While the must-have Le Volume de Chanel Mascara made my lashes thicker than ever, Chanel Les 4 Ombres quads give you endless options to blend the hues together for an array of stunning looks.

Summer 2012 is almost here and I couldn’t be more excited! As much as I love the warm weather, I love living in a land of four seasons because the change in weather always marks a new beginning. Plus, it’s always a blast to buy new pieces for your wardrobe and rediscover old seasonal styles that have been in hiding in the back of your closet for the past six months.
Here are some of my favorite summer picks for the 2012 season:
1. Kenneth Cole Reaction Adjustable Printed Brief Shorts Swimsuit: A far cry from the string bikini, this year’s swimsuits are reminiscent of the 60s and far more conservative. In a year where major stars have been seen wearing long sleeves on the red carpet, women are finding that they ironically feel sexier when they are a little more covered up.
2. Kenneth Cole Reaction Ruffled Skirted Swimsuit: I’ve always wanted a skirted swimsuit, but have yet to own one. I’m pretty obsessed with this one. Not only are the color and the ruffles adorable, it acts as both a swimsuit and beach coverup in one.
Today, I got the chance to visit the showroom of renown outerwear designer, Dawn Levy. Seeing that this was a chilly spring day, viewing Dawn Levy’s first coat collection under her own label was a wonderful way to spend the day. Levy has long been the Creative Director of the Laundry outerwear brand. Her first solo line of coats, furs, trenches, and anoraks will be seen this fall at Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Barneys, and Saks.
With reasonable retail prices and designs that flatter the female silhouette, Dawn Levy’s collection has become a favorite of mine. In a city like New York, where cars are rarely used, your coat, boots, and purse really take the place of a traditional vehicle. So they need to be selected with care.
Such a great mix of warmth, shape, and attainable luxury.
I also saw some Spring items. These adorable figure-flattering raincoats, also come with a carrying bag so when it stops raining, you carry around your raincoat elegantly and effortlessly.
Socialites find Nirvana through both yoga and shopping. BODHI is one of my favorite handbag lines for its craftsmanship of simple elegance and elite functionality. In the ancient language of Sanskrit, the term “Bodhi” (Boh-de,) means supreme knowledge or enlightenment. The meaning behind the BODHI brand truly suits its new line of tech accessories. However, my newest “Bagsession” a.k.a. “Bag Obsession” is the BODHI Safety Clutch (pictured right.) I totally just made up that word “Bagsession” and I am quite proud of myself.
This head turning piece with a one of a kind handle has been featured on Gossip Girl. Buying a new designer bag is always a spiritual experience. If you are interested in enlightening you wardrobe with a new BODHI bag, they are available on the BODHI website and at high-end department stores such as Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, and Henri Bendel. There is nothing like eastern spirituality to brighten up a designer handbag. The most unique part of BODHI bags are that inspiring mantras sewn into the interior of each bag such as, “Those who bend in the wind are strongest.” Therefore, these purses enlighten both body and soul.
