So Excited for Target’s Spring Collaborations with Prabal Gurung & Kate Young!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard of Prabal Gurung’s upcoming spring collaboration with Target.  I’m absolutely drooling over this lookbook that really seems to capture the brightness and fun that every woman is looking for in spring fashion.  I love all of the floral prints and that most of the dresses can also be worn with tights or leggings for those colder days in early spring.  Aside from show stopping clothes, Prabal Gurung for Target also includes jewelry, shoes, bags, and accessories.  This collection of nearly 80 items priced at $19.99 to $199.99 is set to hit Target stores and Target.com on Feb. 10.

From daytime and casual evening looks to elegant red carpet ensembles, Target is also doing a spring collaboration with celebrity stylist, Kate Young.  This may be Kate’s first time designing a collection, but with a resume that includes styling the first cover of Teen Vogue with Anna Wintour and putting together red carpet looks worn by stars such as Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, and Rachel Weisz, I’m sure she’ll have no problem designing a top-notch collection for one of the world’s biggest retailers.  Kate Young for Target is set to hit stores and the website on April 14th with prices ranging from $14.99 to $89.99.

Candie’s Spring/Summer 2012 Lookbook

I’ve always loved the ultra girly qualities of the Kohl’s Candie’s brand and the images I just previewed from their Spring/Summer 2012 lookbook.  I love all the bright weekend and beachside looks in this collection.  All of which look as if they cost so much more than they actually do.

Great florals!

Obsessed with the pink Asymmetrical Pleated Dress and it’s under $30!

Wedges are such a summer staple.

10 Ways to Enjoy Spring Socialite Style

Wildflowers-New-Hampshire

Spring has arrived and I must say that I prefer warm weather to arrive fashionably early rather than fashionably late.  A little more shorts and sundress shopping time would have been nice, but I’m not complaining.  In fact, I couldn’t be more excited to venture into the far reaches of my closet to resurrect my favorite Spring/Summer items.  When the seasons change, I like to look at it from a socialite perspective.  So I spent the evening brainstorming ways to celebrate Spring socialite style:

10. Shop for Warm Weather Essentials

Time to hit the stores and stock up on sunglasses, swimsuits, sandals, and sundresses for your travels and city adventures.

9. Drink Cocktails Outside

There’s nothing greater than sipping drinks with friends at a sunny sidewalk cafe. I’m also a huge fan of The Frying Pan, a bar comprised of three boats docked in the Hudson River.

8. Tan on the Rooftop

Rooftops in Manhattan provide excellent places to lounge while the weather is still mild.

7.  Take a Spontaneous Beach Trip

It’s going to be 80 degrees on Thursday!  Looks like the beach weather came early this year.

6.  Relax in Central Park

Central Park provides New Yorkers with the best of both worlds.  As you sit in a huge  field filled with green grass and blooming trees, you see beautiful buildings in the distance.  It’s absolutely wonderful!

5. Have a Spring Tea Party

Invite your friends over for Spring tea.  It’s classy, especially if you dress up.

4. Outdoor Yoga

Yoga is just more relaxing under the sun.  Plus, there are tons of free outdoor classes all over NYC.

3. Paint Your Nails Spring Colors

Pale pinks, blues, and greens always work for spring, but this year neons are in.

2. Drive with the Top Down

Nothing can make you feel more like you’re on top of the world than the first convertible drive of the year.  Just don’t forget to bring along a hairbrush and makeup for photo touch ups.

1. Enjoy the World Around You

After spending the winter inside, you realize how much of the beauty of nature you’ve been missing.  When walking around the city this time of year, I like to take the long way home.

Spring Forward with The Limited

Spring is fast approaching and in spite of the fact that I don’t enjoy springing forward and losing an hour of sleep, I’m always fashion forward. In honor of The Limited’s Spring 2012 Collection, I styled this pink silky button up known as The Collins Shirt into two office chic looks. Surrounded by sunshine, bird feeders, and blooming flowers, spring emerged elegantly as the stunning backdrop to this photo shoot.

For the first look, I tucked the shirt into my favorite pair of black pants for a sleek spring office look. The second look was schoolgirl inspired which included a preppy vest tights, black flats, and medium length skirt. Styling these outfits has taught me that working 9 to 5 can be fun as long as you look good doing it.

Disclaimer: Vicky was gifted The Collins Shirt from The Limited.

Marni at H&M Collection in Stores March 8th

So excited to announce the impending launch of another spring 2012 designer line that those of us still aspiring can actually afford! The Marni at H&M Collection will be available in H&M stores everywhere tomorrow March 8th. What really stands out to me about this collection besides the prices is Marni’s impressive use of texture. The patterns are absolutely out of this world. They’re mosaic qualities are bright and ornate like the Alhambra in Spain.

It seems like the weather in New York is going to be pretty mild for next couple days. So should you be one of those people camping out overnight outside the store, you just may be in luck. The Hollywood elite may have already gotten to sample the collection, but now’s the time for your moment in the sun.
