Lea Michele for Candie’s

So many spring lines so little time!  Today, Candie’s revealed that Glee‘s Lea Michele will be the official face of their spring 2012 campaign entitled “Hangin’ at Home.”  It will debut in March and feature Rachel Berry’s alter ego causing a stir in the kitchen, glamorously lounging by the pool and being playful in her bedroom.  As a top-notch performer, Lea Michele does an impeccable job modeling Candie’s affordable spring 2012 fashions available exclusively at Kohl’s department stores.

This may be my favorite Candie’s campaign/collection.  As a fellow singer, it’s no wonder that Lea’s favorite Candie’s alumna is Britney Spears.  I will absolutely be including some key Candie’s items in my Hampton’s/Central Park wardrobe for 2012.  In three words, I would describe this collection as colorful, bubblegum, and versatile.  Like Lea Michele herself, Candie’s spring 2012 just has so much personality.  Maybe I should learn to become a spokesperson?  It looks like fun and they probably let you keep the clothes.

A Typical Monday in the Life of An Aspiring Socialite

Starting off the week with a socialite flair: Mondays don’t always have to be bland. In the world of elite socialites, they barely even exist. I blog with the belief that one day, my life will consist of one big weekend. In a city of black, white, and grey I took the liberty of brightening up my Monday with a pair of hot pink capris with the intention of making NYC more like Miami Beach. Just like any New Yorker, I really do enjoy the combination of dressing in all black with one unique accessory to stand out, however, once the weather gets warmer, it’s time to brighten things up a bit.

Turning heads: I don’t know what stopped traffic more: Was it my hot pink pants in a rush hour traffic full of nothing, but black suits? Or was it me stopping to take pictures of myself in reflective surfaces all over the city on my way home? Either way, socialites were made to stand out and aspiring ones are no exception.

Summer shopping: As you can see, I also went shopping at H&M to expand my summer wardrobe for 2011. They have some awesome basics for summer, however, at times it was hard to figure out what was a beach coverup and what was a sundress.

Aspiring to the great wisdom of yoga: At the end of the day, I took to Yoga to the People to expand my energy within. As someone with a life as busy as mine, I need all of the endorphins I can get. Therefore, I turn to hot yoga for both energy and serenity.

Well, that was my day. What do you do on a typical Monday to make yourself more of a socialite?

Matthew Williamson’s Collection Exclusively at Macy’s

After the success of Kinder Aggugini’s line for the Macy’s Impulse department that launched in February 2011, Matthew Williamson will also be making an exclusive appearance at the Macy’s Impulse department as the second designer to take part in the capsule collection series. This bright and chic designer line will be available at Macy’s stores nationwide beginning April 13th with model Dree Hemingway as the face of the collection.

If Matthew Williamson’s designer line for Macy’s were a song, it would by Katy Perry’s Firework. His use of color is absolutely impeccable throughout the line’s sophisticated separates and collectible 70s-inspired dresses complete with irresistible prints. Anyone looking to get noticed by the paparazzi should always wear bold fashions and Matthew Williamson’s designs have it. His combination of unconventional sophistication makes his pieces transition flawlessly from day to night. The disco era inspired designs range from $50 – $120 in price making them incredibly affordable to those looking to climb the social ladder. Those already on top can get their fix of the British designer’s signature neon hues at his flagship store on West 14th St. in the Meatpacking District.

Nautical Style Sets Sail for Spring

If you had a yacht what would you name it? As someone who has thought about this extensively, I have come to the conclusion that I would name my yacht(s) after epic characters such as Helen of Troy and Guinevere. Lazy days and hot summer nights aboard a yacht are a standard part of being a socialite. However, for those of us who would like to create the illusion that we are about to embark on a classy cruise, the fashion community has answered our prayers. Though nautical styles always tend to make an appearance every spring, this year they are coming out full force. Everyone from Forever 21 to Fendi are hopping onto the nautical bandwagon because these deck side looks are just as much spring signatures as pastels and florals. All hands on deck socialites. It is going to be quite the summer.

To be in ship shape, every socialite needs her accessories. Here are some accessory ideas to add some flare to your summer look.
