Very Obsessed with Very.com

My Middleton style obsession and my undying love for British fashion has recently led to the discovery of the brilliant British e-tailer, Very.com, that launched in the United States last month with a launch party at the NYC SoHo house. Top American fashion icons such as Nicky Hilton and Whitney Port attended the event celebrating the U.S. introduction of a website dedicated to bringing British labels to the American socialite market.

Pippa and Kate both have an amazing sense of classic style.  So it’s no wonder we’re all obsessed.  It’s been said that Pippa Middleton alone generates up to 300 paparazzi pictures each day.  However, once Pippa or Kate is seen wearing something, it sells out within seconds making it nearly impossible to dress in your favorite Middleton looks.  That’s why I’m very thankful for Very.com.  Every time I go on the site, I feel like I’m staring straight into the closets of Britain’s most famous sisters.

Disclaimer: This is NOT a sponsored post.  I just loved Very.com so much and the ability it has given me to dress in a more Middleton fashion that I couldn’t keep it to myself.

ABC Family’s Jane By Design Style Challenge #2

*I had a feeling Gray wasn’t completely pleased with this challenge so I got inspired to make my Round #2 Style Icon tribute to Kate Middleton a little bigger and more opulent like her wedding on April 29, 2011. One time when I was wearing this skirt and cardigan,I was told that I looked like Kate Middleton so I figured they would be appropriate to add to the white t-shirt I was given in which I drew a British flag/crown design on using the fabric markers in my trunk.

For round two of ABC Family’s Jane By Design Style Challenge, I was given the assignment of creating a design on a t-shirt that represents my style icon or the person from which I gain most of my fashion inspiration from. Anyone who reads my blog on a regular basis, knows just how much Kate Middleton’s style and story inspire me. So it’s easy to say that the Duchess of Cambridge is truly my style icon. They say London isn’t as fashionable as Paris or Milan, but I always find myself drawn to British designers.  My favorites include Mulberry, Ted Baker, and of course Alexander McQueen.  Kate Middleton is the perfect person to represent her quite fashionable nation.

When people find themselves amongst wealth and power, they tend to lose their personal style by wearing what they think they should be wearing instead of what makes them who they are.  The opposite is true with Kate.  I have a deep admiration for her classic simple style and the fact that it has stayed classic as she became royalty.  No matter if you’re Team Kate or look up to another style icon such as Audrey Hepburn, Madonna, or even your mom or favorite aunt, share your own style icon and why they inspire you on the Jane By Design Facebook Page.  Don’t forget to say Aspiring Socialite sent you.

Tune into the premiere of Jane By Design on ABC Family Tuesday Jan. 3rd at 9/8c!

Naughty or Nice? Happy Holidays Either Way!

Socialite Advice: Santa doesn’t care if you’re naughty or nice as long as you act like royalty during the holidays!

Funny Story: This year on my little sister’s birthday, when I gave her a card that said, “Happy Birthday Caroline!  Thanks for always being the Pippa to my Kate Middleton,”  She said, “What’s a Pippa?”  I can’t believe she didn’t get it.  It was such a compliment.  I guess this year’s Royal Wedding didn’t have the same impact on everyone as it did on me.  It truly was the highlight of my 2011.

Crazy About Pippa on TLC

Ever since that epic April morning when the world watched Will and Kate profess their love in the wedding of the century, everyone seems to have forgotten all about them.  Kate’s little sister Pippa Middleton became a role model for frumpy bridesmaids everywhere when she stole the show from her big sister in a snug Alexander McQueen.  Will and Kate may have earned the titles of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, but the media dubbed Pippa “Her Royal Hotness,” a title that I find to have bit more caliber.  Other titles that this royal in-law has received include Tatler Magazine’s number one society singleton.

This quite stylish fairy tale continues Aug. 9th on TLC with Crazy About Pippa, an hourlong special all about Britain’s most eligible bachelorette.  Aside from being incredibly stylish, dating hot British society boys, and sometimes going as P-Middy, who is Pippa Middleton really?  Well, seeing that my invite to the next British high society horserace must have gotten lost somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean, I guess I will have to tune in Aug. 9th promptly at 9 p.m. to find out.

Who to Aspire to Be and When

I am a strong believer in the complexity of people. It is next to impossible to describe anyone in three words because from second to second we are a million different people. Unlike the average person who lives their life in the norm, socialites and celebrities show their many sides in the public eye. In every aspect of your socialite life, you should be the best of the best.

Here I give you every Aspiring Socialite’s guide to which socialites/celebrities to emulate and in what situation.

On the party scene: Though she is so much more, Paris Hilton is the ultimate party girl who knows how to get photographed at every A-list event.  Instead of cocktails, this heiress likes to down red bulls to keep up her energy late into the night.

When meeting your boyfriend’s parents: Known as America’s Sweetheart, Reese Witherspoon is the potential daughter-in-law every parent dreams about.  In fact, I don’t think there is anyone who doesn’t love Reese Witherspoon or doesn’t want to be her best friend.

When launching your line: Kim Kardashian along with the rest of the Kardashian Klan have business ventures worth millions.  Their empire stretches from fashion, to fragrances, to reality TV, magazine covers, and much more.  So when it comes to being a businesswoman, take a hint from the Kardashians.

On an interview: Weather you are on a job interview or being interviewed by the ladies of The View, you need the royal presence and poise of Kate Middleton.  The Duchess of Cambridge may also be a great person to imitate on the catwalk.  Not only is she a fashion icon, but everyone knows she landed her prince while modeling a sheer number in a charity fashion show back at St. Andrews.

Though it is always important to make your own path and not focus on becoming like one person alone, mixing the best qualities of the rich and famous into one can be your one way ticket to high society.
