The Royal Baby Watch has ended! Though we still haven’t heard the official name of Baby Boy Windsor, it’s time everyone’s favorite royal couple had a moment of rest. Having blogged about the Royal Wedding more than two years ago, I’m so happy to see that the happy couple has given birth to a healthy baby boy who has absolutely no idea what’s in store for him. Since I’m sending my heartfelt congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge from New York, I’ll be celebrating this momentous occasion the NYC way by shopping for a commemorative accessory to add to my wardrobe.
On April 29, 2011, Pippa Middleton showed the world that white isn’t just for brides, it’s for bridesmaids too. Sometime in June 2013, she became Vanity Fair‘s newest Contributing Editor. Kate may be the ultimate royal, but little sister, Pippa, has proven herself to be the ultimate socialite following in the footsteps of Jackie O. as a fashion editor. She’s also a vision in white. But, I tend to love her style no matter what color it is.
That being said, the little white dress as seen on Pippa Middleton in Vanity Fair is a summer staple. It’s perfect for a beachside vacation or a summer brunch in the city. However, just as it isn’t easy to climb the social ladder, pulling off the little white dress can be an equally difficult endeavor. White can be quite the unforgiving shade, so be certain that your little white dress fits you well and that it has a solid lining before buying it. Once you’ve found that beyond compare LWD, be sure to wear undergarments close to the shade of your skin so they don’t show through. To add color, pair it with a brightly colored bag, bright shoes, or a vintage convertible like Pippa did in the magazine. Here are some of my top white haute dress picks for summer 2013:
On the sporty side of fashion, tennis whites are always trendy. Pippa professed her (and Kate’s) love for tennis in Vanity Fair when she told readers about the first time she went to Wimbledon at the age of eight. Though I’ve never excelled at sports, I’ve always loved tennis. Well, mostly I love the clothes. But, I do play on occasion when I can borrow someone else’s tennis racket. Like golf, it’s one of the most fashionable sports. At a match, everyone from the spectators in the audience to the atheletes are decked out in designer fashions. Inspired by Pippa and her stylish tennis ways, there are a few fab tennis items that I plan on adding to my summer wish list:
In a world of Kardashians, it’s important to have positive role models. So, it will be no surprise to you that mine are Pippa and Kate. It’s easy to feel connected to them when we have the same color hair and social aspirations. In honor of Pippa being rumored to be back with ex-boyfriend, Alex Loudon, a cricket-player-turned banker, I’ve recreated two of my favorite looks she has sported throughout her continuing reign of fame.
2. Rich & Skinny White Wedge Skinny Jeans: Having the perfect pair of white jeans is a summer essential. Plus, I love that there is a clothing company called Rich & Skinny.
4. D&G Aviator Sunglasses: Like many stars, Pippa sports sunglasses most of the time to help ease the glare of the paparazzi. Love the aviators.
5. Mulberry Pebbled Beige Glossy Baywater Bag: Whenever I go into Mulberry, I always think of Pippa and Kate and how I could see them wearing almost everything in the store making it one of my favorite brands.
Though you should always have your own style and celebrate your uniqueness, there’s a lot you can learn from the celebrities you admire on your journey to fame and fortune. In the celebrity world, imitation really is the best form of flattery. While some choose to buy off the rack, those aspiring often choose to buy off celebrities. Here are some of my favorites picks worn by the celebrities I love the most.
Nowadays, anyone who’s anyone want to dress like Kate and Pippa. With their class, beauty, and style, it’s no wonder everyone wants to be a Middleton sister. But, as soon as they leave the palace, their fab outfits sell off the rack within milliseconds. This phenomenon is known as “The Kate Effect.” If you’re going to be a socialite, you need to be ready for The Kate Effect. Here’s your chance to reserve your very own pair of J Brand 811 Mid-Rise Skinny Jeans in Coral from Boutique To You that Kate Middleton wore while promoting the upcoming London Olympics with the women’s field hockey team.
My Middleton style obsession and my undying love for British fashion has recently led to the discovery of the brilliant British e-tailer, Very.com, that launched in the United States last month with a launch party at the NYC SoHo house. Top American fashion icons such as Nicky Hilton and Whitney Port attended the event celebrating the U.S. introduction of a website dedicated to bringing British labels to the American socialite market.
Pippa and Kate both have an amazing sense of classic style. So it’s no wonder we’re all obsessed. It’s been said that Pippa Middleton alone generates up to 300 paparazzi pictures each day. However, once Pippa or Kate is seen wearing something, it sells out within seconds making it nearly impossible to dress in your favorite Middleton looks. That’s why I’m very thankful for Very.com. Every time I go on the site, I feel like I’m staring straight into the closets of Britain’s most famous sisters.
Disclaimer: This is NOT a sponsored post. I just loved Very.com so much and the ability it has given me to dress in a more Middleton fashion that I couldn’t keep it to myself.
