The Beauty of Wet Paint Nail Glaze System

I’m all about quality nail polish and a good deal. The revolutionary Wet Paint Nail Glaze System was created by nail artist to the stars, Julia Palmer who’s worked with stars such as Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Aniston, and J.Lo. Wet Paint’s system brings out every socialite’s inner chemist by giving you the ability to mix base coats with top coats to create completely new colors directly on your nails.

Lucky for you, Wet Paint is offering a great deal for their layerable nail polish on Gilt City where you can get $40 worth of Wet Paint Polish for only $20.  This offer is available through Nov. 15th.  It may be a good time to get started on your holiday shopping.

The Periodic Table of Nail Polish

Cougar Boots are a Winter Staple

After experiencing snow in October for the first time ever on Saturday, it’s safe to say a crazy winter is most likely upon us this season. Which means every socialite needs a good pair of stylish winter boots. What could be better than a pair of boots from Canada? Originating in Canada, Cougar Boots are made to be worn through the harshest of elements with the most fashionable feel. As a genuine Canadian brand, all of the packaging is in both English and French. Since I’m all about multitasking, I’m starting to see Cougar Boots as a means to learn French while shoe shopping. Which is great if you’re planning a trip to Vancouver anytime soon.

New York City isn’t exactly the great outdoors, but that doesn’t mean that fashionistas living in the Big Apple don’t need heavy duty winter boots to navigate the city’s icy streets during the upcoming months. New York is a walking city so shoes are very important. I’ve never seen such great waterproof and temperature technology. With Cougar Boots, your feet are guaranteed to be warm, dry, and stylish. I’m so excited to be the most stylish/hottest socialite in the snow in winter.

Disclaimer: I was gifted a pair of Mirage Cougar Boots (a $250 value.) Thanks Cougar Boots! I love them and look forward to wearing them everywhere this winter!

The Rustic Styles of American Rag

Is there such a thing as a rustic socialite?  Earthy chic is in with its signature shades of brown, tan, and olive green. By “Earthy Chic” I don’t mean bohemian or straight up outdoorsy, I mean fashion inspired by a simpler American life not often found in New York. As the holidays get closer, I find myself looking for fashions that seem like something I would wear while drinking hard cider in front of a burning fire while on vacation in a stylish log cabin.

The American Rag line I previewed earlier this week at a party celebrating the holiday issue of the music/style magazine, RAGGED MAG, gave me this desired log cabin feeling and reminded me of the scenic landscape in Maine. The rustic decor of The Jane Hotel couldn’t have been a better backdrop for the American Rag line. Upon entering, I almost felt that I’d been transported into a sophisticated vegetarian hunting lodge.  Seeing that I abide by a strict vegetarian diet, an actual hunting lodge would not be sufficient.

The Ultimate Holiday Handbags

Handbags make me happy and so do holidays. Even more than most socialites, I have a thing for handbags. I think of them as works of art that you carry with you always. Therefore, you need a separate designer purse for every occasion and/or day of the week. Since much of Alexander McQueen’s insanely crazy designs came from a dark place, I suggest going with a McQueen for Halloween. The designer and the holiday go together so well that they rhyme.

Now that you have a Halloween handbag that may even be shaped like or include a skull, it’s time to find a nice festive bag to bring along to all the holiday parties you are bound to be invited to. I love this preppy red plaid Dooney & Bourke Tartan Barrel Satchel ($178) available at both Macy’s and Lord & Taylor. Its colors are so festive that it serves as a holiday ornament all on its own. Having been an ugly duckling in my life, I love the Dooney & Bourke signature swan.

This Alexander McQueen Dagger Skull Pony Clutch is a little pricier at $1595, but is so stylish it’s scary! Frighteningly fabulous!

Fall/Holiday 2011 Preview at the Adrianna Papell Showroom

Tis the season for holiday dress previews. The sparkles lighting up the showrooms have everyone asking what will the socialites wear to the ball this fall? Even if this modern-day aspiring Cinderella never makes it to a society ball this season, assuming of course that they still hold balls, I got to have an Adrianna Papell dress. As I learned on my lunchtime visit to the Adrianna Papell showroom this week, the Adrianna Papell family is divided into five divisions: Adrianna Papell (versatile more casual day and evening outfits,) Adrianna Papell Evening (high-styled formal eveningwear,) Aidan Mattox (sexy glam evening gowns,) Adrianna Papell For E! Live From the Red Carpet (old Hollywood glam,) and Hailey Logan (an affordable juniors line perfect for the prom.)

You can find these exquisite designs at my favorite socialite hang outs including Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, and Lord & Taylor.  Every socialite has a soft spot for red carpet style.  Every girl can shine like a socialite in Adrianna Papell For E! Live From the Red Carpet with the line’s classic Hollywood glamour full of ruffles, sparkles, and plunging necklines.  Plus, since Joan Rivers is on the E! payroll, anyone wearing anything from Adrianna Papell’s Red Carpet line is bound to to get a rave review from the Fashion Police.  Not that you need any sort of leverage to get best-dressed in these chic dresses.

This picture hangs outside the Adrianna Papell showroom and it is so glam. I especially love the chandelier, it reminds me of my logo.  So socialite!
