French Connection Inspiration & Mystery

French Connection U.S. has teamed up with Warner Bros. Pictures to promote the studio’s upcoming release of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Beginning on November 7th, all French Connection U.S. retail locations will display Sherlock Holmes-inspired looks in store windows as homage to the film and the brand’s British roots. Who knew that French Connection is actually a British company? But, El Corte Inglés (The English Cut) is Spanish so I guess it makes sense.

You can also enter a sweepstakes starting on November 7th within retail stores for a chance to win a free trip to NYC to partake in a private screening of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows before it is released in theatres on December 16th. If you can’t make it to a store, entry into the sweepstakes is also available to consumers through French Connection’s ecommerce site. I saw the first Sherlock Holmes film in theaters and left having no idea what went on in the entire film. But, what’s fashion without a little mystery?

Celebrating Mulberry’s Spring 2012 Collection with ELLE Magazine

Tonight I attended the lovely launch of Mulberry‘s Spring 2012 Collection where I met ELLE Magazine‘s Fashion News Director, Anne Slowey who brought her beautiful baby to the event. I also spotted ELLE’s Senior Accessories Editor, Kyle Anderson across the room. It’s always a joy to party around beautiful British designs most of which I could totally see Kate and Pippa wearing.

LOVE LOVE LOVE these boots!  The pumps and the bag are pretty awesome too against the bookshelf background.

These great prints are very true to the Mulberry brand. Can you spot their signature tree?

More cool classy clothes that I can’t afford.

Love these bags! Very spacious and fun!

Versace and H&M Go Bold!

The House of Versace has merged with Swedish retailer H&M for another very exciting high/low collaboration that combines the bold visions of Versace with the accessibility of H&M. Did you know H&M stood for Hennes & Mauritz? Now everyone (even the bottom 99%) can strut their stuff in the crazy sexy looks of Versace in this Lady Gaga inspired collection. Versace for H&M is set to hit stores just in time for the holidays on November 19th. I’ve always had something Versace on my Christmas list, but this year I might actually get something from the most outlandish fashion house on the block.

As every fashionista knows, the House of Versace or “My House, My Rules,” as Donatella Versace likes to say, isn’t a place, but a state of mind. If you could actually live there no one would leave. This incredibly joyful collection is probably the most inspiring of the year. It’s boldness and out of this world bright colors make it almost feel as it’s from a different time. The time we’re living in is dark and turbulent so we must approach it boldly. That’s exactly what this collection does. According to Donatella, fashion had it wrong the last time the economy failed when they produced safe neutral quality clothes that they thought people would invest in. “That couldn’t be more wrong. The companies that survived the most were the ones that were recognizable, that stuck to their DNA, and our DNA is glamour,” said Versace. The blonde fashion prophet couldn’t be more right. The worse things get, the more people desire glamour.

Some Serious Fashion at Glamour’s 21st Annual Women of the Year Awards

As NYC’s favorite Aspiring Socialite, I get invites to some of the most exclusive events. Since I still have a long way to go until I’m a household name outside of my own home, invites to Glamour‘s 21st Annual Women of the Year Awards earlier this week are still out of my reach which only gives me more to aspire to under the bright lights of Manhattan.  But, a girl can still dream and of course judge everyone on the red carpet.

Jessica Alba in this stunning black and white Tory Burch gets my vote for best-dressed. She looks so glamourous, yet relatable.  I can really see this becoming a classic.  Plus, I’m a huge fan of wearing head-to-toe black and white.  However, I also have to give notable mentions to Tory Burch herself, Emma Stone, and Lea Michele.  Jennifer Lopez killed in Versace as she further stunned everyone be taking a humble look at her incredible career.  Overall, this was one of the best-looking red carpets I’ve seen all year.  Aside from the breathtaking designer fashions worn by some of the most glamourous and accomplished women ever, one of Lea Michele’s quotes really stood out to me when she said, “Stand for something, or you’ll fall for everything.”  I may have no clue where my life is headed, but I stand firmly for self-improvement and obtaining the socialite lifestyle.

Left to right:

Emma Stone looking like a Greek Goddess in a green Lanvin. She should really wear this color more. It looks perfect with her red hair.

Esteemed fashion designer, Tory Burch, on the red carpet in her own adorable design.

The ultimate diva, Lea Michele, in a champagne colored Jenny Packman. Divas always need their sequins when off the set of Glee.

Lucky Shops New York VIP Party & Screening of ABC Family’s Jane By Design

Thanks to being one of Lucky Magazine‘s favorite bloggers, they invited me and a friend to the Lucky Shops New York VIP Party and an exclusive after party at the Crosby Street Hotel for a pre-screening of ABC Family‘s new show, Jane By Design, premiering in January. We also got to mingle with the stars of the show.  Since a picture is worth 1000 words, here is a photo essay of my epic night.

So many people, so many deals, so little time…

I had my eye on this cute little mini red Foley + Corinna bag.  I also found some of the most inspiring accessories at the Rebecca Minkoff booth.

Lucky Magazine always makes me feel like a star hence the director’s chair.

My friend Tracy and I met Erica Dasher, the star ABC Family’s new series Jane By Design at the after party at the Crosby Street Hotel. She’s such a doll! You should totally tune into the show on January 3rd at 9/8c. The pilot was a lot of fun to watch and featured some great fashion by costume designer, Olivia Miles.  The show tells the story of a quirky high school student with great fashion sense who gets a job at a high-end fashion house after a case of mistaken identity.  She then begins leading a double life as a high school “Plain Jane” and rising fashion executive a.k.a. the executive assistant to a crazy fashion maven.  It’s like The Devil Wears Prada meets high school.
