Glam Rock SoBe Collection Debuts in Hollywood

Elegant watches have long been a symbol of wealth and class.  Socialites have always been known to sport designer watches as a true symbol of timeless style.  Though the wristwatch has now been replaced by cell phones as a primary means of telling time, the classic watch still remains an iconic fashion accessory for every season.

Today, Glam Rock Watches debuted their SoBe Collection in Hollywood with the announcement of a special partnership with the Give Back Hollywood Foundation‘s new Hollywood Pledge campaign.  Celebrity ambassadors for this campaign include the recently engaged Kim Kardashian, Jewel, and Denzel Washington.  In honor of this wonderful cause, the Miami-based watch designer will be selling limited edition Hollywood Pledge watches with part of the proceeds going directly to the pledge.

SoBe watches allow women to instantly change the look of their watch with patented “Just Click” technology inspired by how people in Miami transition from the office to the beach or from a boat to a party.  In one motion both the and straps case cover can be changed for an entirely new look.  Though Hollywood Pledge formally launches today, some of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities will be attending the ultra exclusive VIP Launch Party and beauty retreat at a private Beverly Hills mansion on Saturday in honor of this ever so “timeless” partnership.

An Amazing Memorial Day 2011 in Avalon, NJ

Summer is officially here and so far I have had a very socialite summer. I could not have asked for a more beautiful summer excursion at my BFF from first grade’s beach house in Avalon, NJ. Located around 40 minutes from Atlantic City, Avalon is an ideal summer destination on the shores of South Jersey to connect with old friends.  As a Delaware girl gone New Yorker, I am no stranger to the shores of South Jersey and the Delaware beaches including Dewey, Bethany, and Rehoboth Beach/outlets.

Aside from being the home of sunny quiet beaches, Avalon is also home to awesomely overpriced shops such as The Preppy Palm.  Soon I will be off to pick out a hat for polo in the Hamptons.  Is anyone else as much of a fan as I am of how I wrote ‘Aspiring Socialite’ in the sand?  I hope you had an awesome Memorial Day too!

Congratulations to my Little Sister Caroline!

Today, on May 28th, 2011 my little sister Caroline Sullivan graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in International Relations in a beautiful ceremony under the Delaware sun. I could not be more proud of her and can’t stop thinking about how much I have watched her grow over the past four years.  As I sit here at my Mom’s home in Delaware watching my Mom get ready for today’s graduation party, I can’t help, but think about all of the aspirations every graduation seems to symbolize.  Everyone is just as much of a socialite on their graduation day as they are on their wedding day.  The only difference is that the paparazzi are your friends and family.

Congratulations to the entire Class of 2011! Keep aspiring because I wish you all the best!  I am so happy to be with my wonderful little sister on such a special day.  She is total socialite.  She just doesn’t know it.

Kanye West also attended the 2011 Commencement at the University of Delaware.  His surprise appearance brings me one step closer to socialite stardom.

Introducing the Fiat 500 by Gucci

Ever dreamed of living in a designer bag? How about driving around in one? Well, your dreams may have just come true. In an elegant fusion between Italian fashion and automotive, comes the Fiat 500 Gucci Special Edition. This car, that I have renamed the “socialite mobile” launched at Milan Fashion Week. It comes in black and white and has all the features of any great designer handbag including superb craftsmanship and signature brand recognition. Shampoo and conditioner in one may be lame, but the Italian bag and Italian car in one is genius idea, especially for people like me who take their accessories very seriously. I dream of someday having the Gucci Fiat along with my Vespa transport me from place to place in a fashionable eco-friendly way that is bound to turn heads.

Living in New York City is amazing and I truly love being able to walk everywhere, but sometimes I really miss the open road. There is something about getting in your car, starting it up, and going wherever you want as music from you ipod blasts through the speakers that makes you feel as if you own the world.

Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me Book Signing

Chelsea Handler has inspired me to do three things: to write a book, to have my own show, and to do whatever I want. So far, I have only completed one out of the three, but that’s okay because I’m still young. Yesterday, on the day that was supposed to be the end of the world, but wasn’t, I went to Chelsea Handler’s book signing at Barnes & Noble for her new book Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me. I totally love her show so standing in line for two hours to see her was totally worth it. Perhaps, someday I will write a book and people will stand in line for me.

Had I known that we couldn’t take pictures with Chelsea in the interest of time, I would have just bought the book and forged the signature. However, it was wonderful to finally meet the woman who I watch on TV almost every night, even if it was for just a second. While standing in line, I must have tweeted like 50 times as I brainstormed ways to get to the front of the line. Maybe I should have brought a bottle of Belvedere Vodka with me to give as a gift like her guests do on the show. That would have gotten me to the front of the line for sure, but I will get my chance when I am a guest on the show. As I aspire to reach my socialite destiny, it is only a matter of time as to what E! show picks me up first. Fashion Police and Chelsea Lately are currently the front runners.
