Fall For Foot Petals Shoe Cushions This Autumn

Living in New York, where walking is one of the main forms of transportation, shoes and purses are the equivalent of cars.  Between Mary Janes, platforms, and stilettos, heels are the passion of every fashionista. Any Aspiring Socialite has an undying desire for red soled Christian Louboutins.  But, when it comes to red blisters on the soles of your feet, the love/hate relationship both your feet and your Visa card have with your prized heels becomes apparent.  With flat feet and a bad back, I find myself wearing flats more than I care to admit. However, this fall, I’m not going to let my slight medical condition stop me from looking stylish in heels.  Not that flats can’t be stylish.  Foot Petals, are known for their fabulous and fashionable shoe inserts and shoe cushions, adding comfort to any of your fall shoes.

The Socialite Guide to Foot Petals:

1.  Stiletto Shieldz: Dressy and strappy heels transition from summer to fall with tights or pants. Apply Stiletto Shieldz, launched by Foot Petals in May, to the outside of stiletto heels to prevent scuffs and nicks. Or add some Strappy Strips to the inside of any strap on your high heels to prevent red marks, rubbing, or just to keep a loose strap in place!

2.  Pressure Pointz:  Women wearing high heels can stick these small shoe cushions in a specific problem spot of their shoes to create a defense layer between their shoe and skin.

3.  Killer Kushionz: Go across the entire sole of the shoe and help keep your foot in place so it doesn’t slide forward, preventing toe cramping while wearing your pointy toed shoes.

4.  Strappy Strips: These ultra-thin strips slip virtually undetected into strappy sandals to keep straps from slipping and prevent blisters and red marks on sensitive heels and ankles.

5.  Heavenly Heelz: If loafers are your go to shoe for fall, Heavenly Heelz shoe cushions are a great product for any shoe that is a bit too big or cuts the back of your heel. Simply apply to the inside back of your shoe to keep your foot comfortably in place.

Fancy Fixation: Aruna Seth’s Diamond Jubilee Shoes

I’ve always wanted to go to England. I’ve been hoping Christian Grey would take me to his home in London in his private jet.  Sadly, he is a fictional character existing only in the rather interesting mind of West Londoner Twi-Mom, E.L. James.  But, an American girl can dream and of course tune into Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee on June 5, 2012.

After coming across these fabulous Swarovski crystal covered Aruna Seth platform pumps on Betty Confidential, I became utterly obsessed.  This UK shoe designer is said to be a favorite of Pippa Middleton and Princess Beatrice.  As homage to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, she has made 0nly 10 pairs of these limited edition shoe enthusiast collectables.  They are currently on display at Harrod’s in London.  Each has a grand total of 3,000 Swarovski crystals.  It takes two weeks for one person to attach the patriotic crystals to the shoes by hand.  I must say I’m smitten.

Cougar Boots are a Winter Staple

After experiencing snow in October for the first time ever on Saturday, it’s safe to say a crazy winter is most likely upon us this season. Which means every socialite needs a good pair of stylish winter boots. What could be better than a pair of boots from Canada? Originating in Canada, Cougar Boots are made to be worn through the harshest of elements with the most fashionable feel. As a genuine Canadian brand, all of the packaging is in both English and French. Since I’m all about multitasking, I’m starting to see Cougar Boots as a means to learn French while shoe shopping. Which is great if you’re planning a trip to Vancouver anytime soon.

New York City isn’t exactly the great outdoors, but that doesn’t mean that fashionistas living in the Big Apple don’t need heavy duty winter boots to navigate the city’s icy streets during the upcoming months. New York is a walking city so shoes are very important. I’ve never seen such great waterproof and temperature technology. With Cougar Boots, your feet are guaranteed to be warm, dry, and stylish. I’m so excited to be the most stylish/hottest socialite in the snow in winter.

Disclaimer: I was gifted a pair of Mirage Cougar Boots (a $250 value.) Thanks Cougar Boots! I love them and look forward to wearing them everywhere this winter!

The Joy of LAYLAJOY Footwear

I think I just discovered the most sophisticated new shoe line of the year. As those of you devout readers already know, I’m a huge fan of transitional and comfortable pieces.  When it comes to shoes, they are pretty much all I wear.  No matter how beautiful a shoe is, if you’re not comfortable in your own shoes (both literally and figuratively,) you will never be at your best.  When I came across LAYLAJOY, a new line of footwear making its very first shoe debut, I immediately realized that I was looking at a line that shares my vision.

Designed by experienced shoe designer, Layla-Joy Williams, who designed for major brands such as Nine West and Converse, the newly emerged LAYLAJOY line is both elegant and edgy.  Containing qualities of both the poised ballerina and the studded London rocker, you can make Natalie Portman proud by being both the black and the white swan in a comfy-chic pair of LAYLAJOY ballerina flats.  Best of luck to the lovely Ms. Williams on her new line!

Best Boots for Fall

This is a total rain-inspired post. After today’s downpour and being attacked this week by fall allergies that hadn’t existed before I moved to the city, I began to detest the new fall season.  Then I remembered how much I’ve been looking forward to wearing boots and leggings around the city and forgot all about the rain or my allergies.  Every socialite knows that when it comes to cold weather style, you can’t just have one pair of boots.  There are different style for different outfits, weather, and sometimes days of the week.  Here are four key styles you need to have one hand as the weather turns from August to Autumn:

1.  Rain Boots: New York is a walking city.  So when the rain is coming down and the streets are inches thick in water, you are going to need a good pair of rain boots to make it home.  I will always have a soft place in my heart for the classic Burberry rain boots.  Not only will they keep your feet and the lower parts of your outfit dry, they are also stylish enough to wear when it’s not raining.

2.  Crazy Boots: Every girl needs a pair of boots in her wardrobe that stand out.  I mean really stand out.  They aren’t a neutral color or an everyday design.  They don’t need to go with everything.  They just need to be fun. Made with original vintage kilim rugs, Kiboots are all one of a kind.

3.  Black Boots: Don’t be afraid to have more than one pair of black boots.  No matter if you prefer wedges, heels, or flats, these are your go-to boots for the season.

4.  Short Booties: Keep your wardrobe diverse by having a variety of tall and short boots.  Booties look great with a dress or skirt.
