Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic at Liberty State Park

This summer, I’m making it a point to attend events that Pippa Middleton would attend.  So when I heard about the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, I knew I had to be there.  So Saturday morning, I took the subway down to Battery Park to catch the ferry to Jersey City.  Standing in line for the ferry, I realized that New York just may be the only place in the world in which one takes public transportation to a polo match.  Apparently, half my social media circle also flocked to the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic because the moment I started sharing my first polo experience on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram I saw that half of my network was also soaking up the preppy summer sun in Liberty State Park too.

Ironically, the $17 Old Navy Sleeveless Floral V Neck Dress that I wore was less expensive than a glass of champagne at the match.  But, the sport of polo is expensive and champagne is an essential part of the experience so I completely understand the price difference.  Looking forward to next year’s Polo Classic and more socialite-centered events this summer.  Just don’t ask me anything about the actual sport of polo.  Like most elite Americans, I’m more concerned with the VIP tent than anything going on in the actual match.  Cheers to Veuve Clicquot and to wearing hats!
