A Touch of Luxury: Style Inspired by the HP Spectre XT Touchsmart Ultrabook

HP-Intel- Project-RunwayI’ve always felt that there was a huge correlation between fashion and technology. In the world of fashion as in that of technology, a sleek cutting edge design is the key to success. Perhaps, product 2.0s and 3.0s are the tech equivalent of the newest season in fashion? As with the latest fashion, the latest technology is the ideal touch of luxury. To me, a touch of luxury in fashion means an elegant combination of high and low fashions. Recently, we’ve been seeing some of today’s biggest celebrities such as Kate Middleton wear a Zara dress paired with a blazer straight from the runway. It’s so refreshing to see the mix of high and low in both street and celebrity fashion as its a great of medley of the attainable and unattainable.

Inspired by the HP Spectre XT Touchsmart Ultrabook™, powered by Intel® Core™ processor’s sleek silver and black design, I put together a great outfit for a spring day at the office.  It can also double as the perfect outfit for after work cocktails.  This sophisticated color combination really makes an impression.

Remembering Steve Jobs in the Big Apple

This week, I was deeply saddened by the loss of Steve Jobs (1955-2011.)  In spite of the fact that I didn’t know him personally and that he started the company long before I was born, I feel that I’ve lost a friend.  As an avid Mac user and lover of anything Apple, I almost feel like I’ve come to know him one app at a time.  Aside from creating some of the most wonderful works of technology that have revolutionized us as a society, Steve Jobs inspired all of us to live our dreams by “Living Foolishly.” Aspiring to become a socialite as a regular girl with student loans in the worst recession since the Great Depression is how I choose to live foolishly and I wouldn’t have it any other way. iConfess that I often stop by Apple Stores in New York City and instead of demoing the products, I put my website up on every laptop, iPad, etc. for the world to see. Something tells me Steve would be proud.

In search of closure for the loss of quite possibly the most genius man in history, I made my way over to the Apple Store on Fifth Ave. wearing a black turtle neck and jeans with an “I Miss You” card and a bottle of apple juice to lay by the landmark of Steve Jobs’ vision for the world he changed a total on nine times. Knowing that Steve would have wanted me to “Think different,” among a slew of flowers and actual apples, I placed a handwritten card and a bottle of apple juice by the store.  Inside the card I wrote a heartfelt message to the fallen innovator that I aspire to always live by:

“Because you were brave enough to live your dreams, my dreams are possible. I promise to always Stay Foolish.  You memory will live on in me and in my MacBook.  Thank you again for everything.”

There isn’t an app that will bring you back to life, but there also isn’t one that will make you a legend.  You have to do that on your own. Thanks to Steve Jobs, I will forever be the iSocialite.
