Marshalls & TJ Maxx Holiday Gifting Event

In the spirit of the holidays, I had the honor of being invited to celebrate the joy of giving at the Marshalls & TJ Maxx Holiday Gifting Event.  With amazing prices and an even more amazing selection of designer goods for everyone, Marshalls and TJ Maxx truly are the ultimate destinations for holiday shopping and my go to store for year-round designer fashions.  As a fun twist, everyone who attended received a gift to give to someone special on their list.  I left with a beautifully wrapped gift to give to my Mom that will be just as much of a surprise for me when she opens it on Christmas morning.

Glam gifts for her

Aside from the fabulously wrapped gift I got for my mom at this event, I have yet start on my holiday shopping and should really head over to Marshalls & TJ Maxx.

My Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving Socialites! Right now I’m so thankful that I finally have time to blog again after the crazy busy two weeks I’ve had. Ever since I was born, I’ve spent every Thanksgiving in New Hampshire with my Dad’s side of the family and this year was no different. Wednesday evening I left NYC on a bus headed for Boston to visit my wonderful family for the Thanksgiving holiday. Though I’ve spent my life constantly aspiring to something greater, I never forget to be grateful for all the blessings life has given me. I’m so thankful for my family, friends, followers, and fans. I feel lucky each day to have a life filled with good health and good company. I may aspire to fame and fortune, but when you have health and friends, you have everything. Many thanks to everyone who has read and supported this blog. Your make me feel more like a socialite everyday!

No turkey for me!  I’m a vegetarian and half my family is gluten-free.  Thankfully, we can all drink wine.

Love my cousins!  Though we’ve always lived far away, we’ve always been super close!

Surviving Hurricane Sandy: The Day After

New York was hit by Hurricane Sandy and I was here to witness it. Though where I live in Midtown Manhattan, had virtually no damage, my heart goes out to those in Lower Manhattan and other areas along the eastern seaboard who have suffered permanent damage from the storm.  After nearly three days of being confined to my apartment for fear of winds, rain, and flooding, I was happy to get out for a walk earlier today.  Thanks to a tip from Refinery29, I finally satisfied my Starbucks craving when I found out that the Starbucks at Marriott Marquis in Times Square had remained open through the hurricane.  As I see business, bridges, and hopefully the subways reopen, I couldn’t be prouder to live in the most resilient city in the world.

SHK Magazine Launch Party

As a full-fledged Aspiring Socialite, being seen, heard, and known is always my number one priority.  So last week, I stepped out for the  Seen | Heard | Known SHK Magazine fall launch party celebrating the launch of the digital magazine this past summer, and the upcoming Fall 2012 full digital edition debut at the private Norwood Club.

SHK is a first of it’s kind editorial platform that merges the traditional editorial aesthetics with the quickness of new media.  The magazine embraces today’s cultural conversation with a unique mixture of  fashion, music, beauty, design, entertainment, and lifestyle .  Plus, they throw a great party!  “It is my hope that our readers will enjoy SHK’s contemporary, high-end, cutting-edge style,”  said SHK Editor-in-Chief, Rachel Eleanor Sutton.

Striking an artsy pose for the photographer.   I asked him how much he would charge to be my personal photographer/documentarian (every blogger needs one).  However, his rate of $500 a day was pretty steep.

Meet Rachel Eleanor Sutton, Editor-in-Chief of SHK, & be sure to check out photos from the entire event on SeenHeardKnown.com!

Anna Dello Russo Celebrates Her H&M Collection at Paris Fashion Week

I truly admire Anna Dello Russo’s editorial work and in your face style. As a supporter of glamour and excess in a less than glamourous world, I love her blinged out AdR at H&M accessories line. After New York Fashion Week, I usually spend the rest of September wishing I was at Fashion Week in London and Paris. They don’t call it Fashion Month for nothing and it’s hard for me to call Anna Dello Russo anything, but extravagant.

Last week, at the peak of Paris Fashion Week, an extravagant party launched the AdR at H&M collection with theatrical flair. Hosted by H&M together with Anna Dello Russo, the Paradis Ball took place in Paris famed cabaret nightclub Paradis Latin. The glitzy party married fashion, performance and a live showcase by music star Azealia Banks along with epic appearances from stylists and socialites. Every Manhattan girl loves opulent affairs, especially if they take place in Paris. Wish I’d been there.
