Inkkas Kickstarter Collection Giveaway!

logo-1

I often find that some of the most beautiful and unique designs are made by eco and socially conscious brands. Inkkas, a custom-made brand of shoes handcrafted at a family-owned workshop in Lima, Peru is currently looking to raise funds to bring the company’s fall line to the U.S. market. In addition to bringing genuine South American shoes to the U.S., a portion of all proceeds are donated to local South American communities to help protect the Amazon rainforest and its’ native inhabitants. Since I love a good cause and original design, I’m giving away a pair of Inkkas from their 2013 collection. Here are the options:

Slate Slip Ons

Leather Midtop Montezuma

Cotton Candy

*To win a pair of  Inkkas, leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite pair, shoe size, and email.

RainTees Travel From the Rainforest to the Runway

Fashion has officially gone good!  I love to dress up, but most of the time, I’m really just a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl. Over New York Fashion Week, I had the pleasure of meeting Beth Doane, who founded RainTees in 2007.  According to her website, when Beth was only eight she got sent to the principal’s office for convincing everyone to give her their lunch money to save the Amazon rainforest.  Today, she doesn’t only save trees, she also helps people all while making cute casual wear.

RainTees not only support your wardrobe by adding something unique to it, they also support children’s education.  To create a RainTee, school supplies are donated to needy schools in the Amazon and the children are asked to draw the world around them.  When a child’s design is chosen, RainTees will sponsor their education.  All tees are manufactured locally in the Amazon using eco-friendly inks, dyes, and fabrics.  Since RainTee’s staff is paid 25% above average wages, they are also ethically manufactured giving local families access to healthcare and education.  So order your own RainTee today and a child will be given a tree to plant in the highly threatened rainforest of Costa Rica.  I rarely see anything like these shirts in stores.  So RainTees are sure to make quite the conversation piece for the ultimate socialite philanthropist with a wardrobe as beautiful as her heart.
