Polo Ralph Lauren and Lord & Taylor Fight Breast Cancer

LAUREN PINK, a new line of sportswear and home products by Polo Ralph Lauren sold exclusively at Lord & Taylor, with a pre-party for some of NYC’s finest bloggers at their Fifth Ave. store.  A portion of the proceeds from the LAUREN PINK line will go to fight breast cancer. I simply can’t get enough of programs that combine charity with fashion.  In a way, they really go hand-in-hand.  While your style speaks volumes about your personality, the charities that you support are at the essence of your character. At the risk of sounding corny, the LAUREN PINK line of plush hoodies, sweaters, and blankets will bring warmth and comfort in more ways than one.  On top of introducing the LAUREN PINK line, Lord & Taylor donated $5 to the Pink Pony Fund for everyone who showed up to the event wearing pink, they donated another $5 for everyone who checked in on FourSquare (I need to get on that,) and yet another $5 for everyone who completed the World of Lauren trivia game.  Hats off to Polo Ralph Lauren and Lord & Taylor for supporting this cause in such a creative way!

Fashion’s Night Out 2010 at Catherine Malandrino

Fashion is power!  It has a profound power over me.  For my first ever Fashion’s Night Out as a New Yorker, I sipped champagne and organic cocktails at the beautiful Catherine Malandrino store in the world-famous Meatpacking District. The clothes looked even more amazing on this special night and the store came alive with the sounds of a DJ spinning the hot tunes of today and decades past.  It was a good thing we got there early because by 8:30 p.m. there was a line out the door.

Not only did I get a free bag to commemorate my experience, I also had my hair done compliments of Blow, the New York blow dry bar.  After having a ball at the House of Catherine Malandrino, I made my way over to the Apple store to celebrate fashion through a photo shoot powered by Mac technology.  It was a night worthy of socialite status.  Anyone who has ever dreamed of fashion and all it stands for could feel the magic in the air.  I must admit, however, that I did commit a fashion faux pas when I took off my heels in the middle of the store because my feet needed a break.  But, like I always say, a socialite never compromises or explains herself.  So whatever.  I have already begun to count down the days until Fashion’s Night Out 2011!
