Mother’s Day Weekend Recap

Mother's Day

I’m originally from Wilmington, Delaware and went home for Mother’s Day weekend. Since my sister now lives in Baltimore, Saturday we spent the day with her in the Inner Harbor. While you may have seen lots of riots and chaos in the news lately, there’s a side of Baltimore that you didn’t see. I absolutely love strolling around Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and seeing all of the beautiful boats go by. It’s totally worth a visit, especially for the aquarium. Here I am (above and to the left) with my mom and sister in the Inner Harbor.

I hope your Mother’s Day was as wonderful as mine!

Share Your Beauty Mother’s Day Charity Drive

share your beauty

Last week, Pretty Connected came together with Family-to-Family for a Mother’s Day beauty drive where bloggers, editors, and brands could donate their excess beauty products to women in need just in time for Mother’s Day. The launch of Share Your Beauty took place at the swanky Davio’s Modern Italian Restaurant on Lexington Ave and 45th Street. Over delicious food and drinks, we stuffed 100 bags donated by LeSportsac with 100 Birchboxes and countless product donations. Each bag was paired with a personalized Mother’s Day message.

In addition to the 100 fabulous bags filled to the brim, over 35 boxes filled with beauty products were sent to the Shelter for Domestic Violence Survivors and Third Street Women’s Residence at Henry Street Settlement to be given out on Mother’s Day! It felt amazing to be part of such a wonderful group of women who are beautiful both inside and out. It means a lot to me to know that we made a different in the lives of women in need and showed them how much they are loved on Mother’s Day. Congratulation to my good friends Lara Eurdolian and Ashley Tschudin for making this possible.

For anyone interested in donating unused beauty products please contact ShareYourBeauty@Family-to-Family.org. Check out a full recap of the Share Your Beauty event on PrettyConnected.com.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Mothers-Day

Happy Mother’s Day to my beautiful Mother, Renee! Here we are on the beaches of her home country, Venezuela, enjoying some sunshine at our favorite beach club, Club Puerto Azul, back in 1987. I can’t get over how cute these photos are and how much I want to go back to Puerto Azul with my Mom and little sister. Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers out there!

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Mothers-Day-Gift-Ideas

I’m very happy to have such a close and special relationship with my Mom. I know everyone says this or at least should, but she’s really the best friend and confidant I’ve ever had. That being said, Mother’s Day has always been very important to me. My little sister, Caroline, was even born on Mother’s Day. Though your Mom will love anything you get her just as she did when you were a kid, no Mom needs another carnation or ‘I <3 Mom’ necklace any more than Dad needs another tie. So here are a few glamourous Mother’s Day gifts for the woman who will always love you unconditionally. Be sure to mark your calendars for May 12, 2013!

1. Effortless Beauty Ready-To-Wear Makeup Planner  2. Square Lacquer Jewelry Box  3. She’s Pampered Set  4. Dooney & Bourke Flower Leisure Shopper  5. Branch Pendant Necklace  6. Voluspa Maison Noir Crisp Champagne Scented Candle

Happy Mother’s Day Mom!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!  Throughout my life, people have come and gone, but the only thing that has remained constant is my mother, Renee.  Originally from Caracas, Venezuela (Yes, I’ve been to Venezuela and the beaches are awesome), my mom came to the United States to finish school and ended up staying.  I’m so grateful to have her in my life and for everything she’s taught me about love, culture, and respect.  One of our favorite socialite activities to do with my sister, Caroline, is shopping, followed by a long lunch, followed by even more shopping.  We also very much enjoy exotic travels.

Here we are playing on the swing on a sunny spring day much like this one at the home where I grew up in Wilmington, DE.  So much time has gone by and so much has changed in our lives since then, but the unconditional love of a mother is timeless like the works of Coco Chanel.  I love you Mom!  Thank you for always supporting my socialite dreams!
