Summer is the season for weekend getaways and spontaneous travel. Since no weekend trip is complete without the perfect weekender bag, here are some of my favorites:
My latest obsession has nothing to do with couture. Like millions of addicts around the world, I’ve developed quite a sweet tooth for Candy Crush Saga. I love all the pretty candies and the challenge each level brings. If you haven’t played yet, just be aware that this game is addictive enough to make you a permanent resident of the Betty Ford Center. So play wisely. Currently, I’ve been stuck on level 65 for over a month and it’s driving me insane.
In spite of it all, Candy Crush certainly has a way of teaching you patience. Not only do some levels take forever to pass, but once your five lives are up, you must wait a specified amount of time before you can play again or ask your Facebook friends to send you a life. I have tons of friends on Facebook that I haven’t spoken to in years, but they never fail to send me lives on Candy Crush. If you can’t wait, you can always pay for more lives, but I’m not really into doing that. I’d rather wait and use my time in between Candy Crush sessions to do something productive. Since I now have nothing, but candy on my mind, I’ve been spending my Candy Crush downtime searching for the cutest candy-inspired accessories. I hope you enjoy my sweet picks and beat that level you’re stuck on soon!
Summer 2012 is almost here and I couldn’t be more excited! As much as I love the warm weather, I love living in a land of four seasons because the change in weather always marks a new beginning. Plus, it’s always a blast to buy new pieces for your wardrobe and rediscover old seasonal styles that have been in hiding in the back of your closet for the past six months.
Here are some of my favorite summer picks for the 2012 season:
Favorite Swimsuits:
1. Kenneth Cole Reaction Adjustable Printed Brief Shorts Swimsuit: A far cry from the string bikini, this year’s swimsuits are reminiscent of the 60s and far more conservative. In a year where major stars have been seen wearing long sleeves on the red carpet, women are finding that they ironically feel sexier when they are a little more covered up.
2. Kenneth Cole Reaction Ruffled Skirted Swimsuit: I’ve always wanted a skirted swimsuit, but have yet to own one. I’m pretty obsessed with this one. Not only are the color and the ruffles adorable, it acts as both a swimsuit and beach coverup in one.
I am by no means anywhere close to getting married or even engaged. However, being the organized efficient socialite that I am, I’m all about planning ahead. So today, I decided to go bridal and plan out the perfect bridal shower/engagement party outfit. All that’s missing is my future Harry Winston sparkler.
2. kate spade new york Bridal Passport Holder: It’s never too early to find that perfect something blue for the wedding. Plus, you’ll obviously need a stylish passport holder for your honeymoon getaway. Love the golden detail celebrating your newlywed life.
3. Lovely Lace Dress: This ivory-toned lace jersey dress with white lining and ruching on the skirt will give your guests a preview of the blushing bride in white without giving too much away.
4. kate spade new york Primrose Hill Kaelin: A beautiful bag small enough to carry around effortlessly and big enough to hold all the checks and gift cards you will be receiving.
So this weekend is the Super Bowl or at least I think it is. Being someone who doesn’t fully understand or follow sports, it’s hard for me to keep track of these things. But, one thing I do fully understand is fashion. Today, when I was invited to a Super Bowl party, I was faced with a minor dilemma of what to wear on that epic Sunday. Since most Super Bowl fashion consists of jeans and a team jersey paired with the ultimate accessory of a Bud Light, I wasn’t quite sure what to wear having never owned or planned on owning a sports jersey. It’s not that jerseys aren’t cute, they just don’t reflect my personality or passion as well as other clothes do. For those of you out there also seeking an outfit alternative, I have one for you. For those of your seeking a viewing alternative, I suggest you tune into the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet.
1. Alexa Leopard Angora Sweater: It may not seem like it, but this sweater totally goes along with the whole sports theme. Many sports teams are named after animals so it’s always good to add a fierce animal print to your outfit when watching the big game.
5. Kate Spade All Wrapped Up Stud Earrings: Your kate spade earrings play on the same team as your kate spade satchel and it’s a winning team. Go team kate!
6. Levi’s Modern Bold Curve Straight Jeans: If you’re going to celebrate the most important unofficial American holiday, you should always wear something all-American.
