Just in time for the September runway shows across New York, London, Paris and Milan, Chanel released a new collection of Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow quads inspired by their iconic tweeds. In order to celebrate these amazing shades in way only fitting of Chanel, I set off to the makeup counter at the 59th St. Bloomingdale’s to style my eyes with InStyle Beauty Director, Kahlana Barfield and Chanel National Makeup Artists (NMAs) John Fussell and Sterling Williams.
Using the Les 4 Ombres Quadra in Tissé Vénitien, Chanel Ebene Eyeliner and Le Volume de Chanel Noir Mascara, the incredibly talented Chanel makeup artist Reanna Godfrey (ask for her at Bloomingdale’s), transformed my eyes into the ultimate smokey eye look. The green hues in the Tissé Vénitien quad, put a nautical spin on the traditional smokey eye. I even mentioned feeling like a mermaid at one point. When the look was complete, Chanel National Makeup Artist John Fussell pointed out that the colors in the palette matched the vibrants blues and greens in my eyes perfectly. So in a magical way, it was almost like they never closed even when I blinked.
As a blue eyed girl, I’m always looking for new ways to bring out my unique eye color and nothing beats Chanel’s beautifuly long-lasting shades. While the must-have Le Volume de Chanel Mascara made my lashes thicker than ever, Chanel Les 4 Ombres quads give you endless options to blend the hues together for an array of stunning looks.

It is once again that time of year where we wonder where the time has gone and search for the perfect gifts in between hot chocolate, holiday specials, and hoping for snow. Though I love the holidays, I prefer to skip the endless lines and crazy traffic at the stores. Therefore, online shopping is an absolute must and this year, I’ll be shopping this season’s must-have holiday items on InStyle.com. The InStyle Holiday Boutique is a limited time, exclusive pop-up gift shop living on InStyle.com from November 11th to December 27th of 2013. It features holiday gifts from over 30 fashion-forward brands and carries everything from designer fashion to accessories, beauty, and contemporary fashion making it perfect for treating both your loved ones and yourself this Holiday Season. I’ve always wanted to be able to shop the outfits and accessories directly from the pages of InStyle and now I actually can just in time for the holidays!
After browsing through the InStyle Holiday Boutique, one of my favorite features (besides seeing the editors’ picks) was the Love List where you can save all your favorite items the way you did when you made Christmas lists for Santa as a kid. Here are five of my fav finds from my love list found in the InStyle Accessories section. Accessories always make excellent holiday gifts and you shouldn’t miss the chance to start off the new year with a few new accessories of your own.
Yesterday, I went to the grocery store to stock up on food and water for the impending wrath of Hurricane Irene. There I picked up my share of crackers and bottled water. However, as I walked home from the grocery store four blocks and an avenue away, I couldn’t tell which was heavier the mass amount of water I had purchased or the September Issues of Vogue, InStyle, and Glamour. When and if the lights go out and I am stuck at home hiding from Irene I will be armed with endless hours of fashion fun. As a socialite fashionista, I would choose to have Anna Wintour by my side over the National Guard any day. Though the eastern seaboard may be in store for a natural disaster, I refuse be among the fashion disasters this fall. Bring it on Irene! But, play nice, I would like to still have my windows once this is all over.
Today, May 12th beginning at noon, bebe is having an awesome promotion going on in stores all across the USA. All you have to do is stop by a participating bebe store anytime after 12 noon, take a picture of yourself in your favorite look (which is always more accurate than a mirror,) and upload it to the bebe Facebook Page for fans to vote on the best look.
Aside from how much I need to go shopping for summer clothes, this contest made me realize just how much any beach-going socialite needs a Vespa in her arsenal of accessories. Not only are they ultra European, but you can hop from place to place quickly as your hair blows in the summer breeze on one of these fab bikes. Though I regret that I have a previous engagement and will not be able to participate in this competition, I trust that the Vespa will go to a very stylish home. In the meantime, I will just have to add the Vespa S 50 4V to the list of items I aspire to own.
