The impressive Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s Impulse line that I recently previewed will hit stories today. On this day in fashion history, even fashionistas with not so deep pockets such as myself can own something designed by the fashion God. Just found this awesome video of the genius at work. It seems we have a lot in common. Like Mr. Lagerfeld, I don’t like counting, especially when it comes to balancing my finances. This sophisticated limited edition collection is in my opinion, the best of the Impulse lines yet. The next collaboration will be with Giambattista Valli, launching Oct. 26.

Matthew Williamson’s Collection Exclusively at Macy’s
After the success of Kinder Aggugini’s line for the Macy’s Impulse department that launched in February 2011, Matthew Williamson will also be making an exclusive appearance at the Macy’s Impulse department as the second designer to take part in the capsule collection series. This bright and chic designer line will be available at Macy’s stores nationwide beginning April 13th with model Dree Hemingway as the face of the collection.

His use of color is absolutely impeccable throughout the line’s sophisticated separates and collectible 70s-inspired dresses complete with irresistible prints. Anyone looking to get noticed by the paparazzi should always wear bold fashions and Matthew Williamson’s designs have it. His combination of unconventional sophistication makes his pieces transition flawlessly from day to night. The disco era inspired designs range from $50 – $120 in price making them incredibly affordable to those looking to climb the social ladder. Those already on top can get their fix of the British designer’s signature neon hues at his flagship store on West 14th St. in the Meatpacking District.
