Ojon Treatment Triage Hairstyling Backstage at Milk Studios

5Y070C

Sunday afternoon, I escaped the chaos of New York Fashion Week and got my hair styled by a top celebrity stylist with Ojon products backstage at MADE Fashion Week at Milk Studios. I have very thick straight hair that I can never get to hold a curl so when I got to my styling appointment, I had my heart set on some serious curls and the stylist totally came through.  When I hit the Fashion Week lounges later in the day, I got so many compliments on my hair and my friends who have never seen me with curly hair were going crazy liking my photos on Facebook.

I must say I’m a huge fan of Ojon.  Their natural repair-based treatments are like an oasis for your hair in that they smell and feel amazing all while adding much-needed moisture to hair damaged by the stress of Fashion Week.  Any hairspray that can get my hair to hold a curl that well is absolutely unbelievable.  For intense hair repair, keep an eye out for Ojon’s Rare Blend Deep Conditioner set to launch in March.

Blonde Moments

Senior year of college I went through quite a bit of changes as I transitioned into the real world.  One of which included dyeing my hair a color I liked to call “Lauren Conrad Blonde.”  I know now that I’m better as a brunette, but I just needed to get the blonde thing out of my system. Here’s yet another throwback from my socialite life back when I was blonde, tan from Spring Break, and pitches of beer were $3 at Chucks. If you ever decide to go blonde, be sure to get it professionally done.  Also, keep in mind that the maintenance of such a look will cost you big $$$$$ because you absolutely can’t have roots.  I’m much happier today with my natural color, but the whole blonde bombshell thing was fun at the time.

My parents and I at my graduation from Syracuse University in May 2009.  This was really more of a defining moment than a blonde moment.

Birds & Fellas Blow-Out

My life can be stressful so when got invited to Birds & Fellas, a fun downtown salon, for a pre-Valentine’s Day blow-out and bubbly, I jumped at the chance.  Everyone there was super nice even after I showed up late to my appointment.  I can’t believe that after three years in New York, I still get lost in The Village.  What I liked the most is that they really live by their mantra of making a haircut a unique experience.  As a tech diva, I truly appreciated Birds & Fellas’ courtesy smartphone charging stations.  They even have a “man cave” area for the boys.  The complimentary seasonal beverage menu was an excellent touch as well.   In honor of Valentine’s Day, they served Pink Prosecco which is one of my all time favorites.  Enjoy my before and after pictures because I’m about the make Birds & Fellas a regular socialite spot.

LOVE the inspiring messages on the mirrors at Birds & Fellas Salon.

Bangin’ Bangs!

In case you didn’t already know, I recently got bangs. I’ve been getting so many compliments on them both in person and on Facebook that I just had to do a post dedicated to my bangs. That’s me to the right of Kim Kardashian. It takes a very confident woman to place their picture among such beautiful celebrities with similar hairstyles. I’m not really that confident, I’m just crazy enough to do something like that and fascinated by how many celebrities are now sporting the same look I am.

It’s not that I copied them or that they copied me or anything.  It’s just now that I have bangs, I’ve been noticing how many celebrities also do and I feel more connected to them.  Kim K. and I both got bangs during the last week of 2011.  Which gives us a unique connection as bangs buddies.  I totally love Lea Michele’s bangs on Glee and last night my friend told me I looked like Leighton Meester when I introduced her to my new bangs.  I know they will grow out shortly and become a side bang, but they’re fun for now.
