NYFW Contest: Help Betsey Johnson Find Her Vintage Pieces

Here’s yet another reason to be psyched out of your mind for New York Fashion Week!  Fashion icon and idol Betsey Johnson is hosting the ultimate contest giving fans on Facebook the chance to win a ticket to her runway show in September.  Through August 20th, Facebook fans are encouraged to submit photos of their beloved Betsey Vintage pieces from the 60s (Paraphernalia), 70s (Alley Cat), and 80s (Punk Label) to be entered to win the following life changing prizes:

  • Grand Prize Winner will receive one ticket to the Betsey Johnson runway show
  • Runner-up Winners will receive personal artwork from Betsey herself

All selected winners will see their vintage pieces on the catwalk, but all will be returned at the end of the runway show.

Don’t waste time – Click Here to quickly get to the Betsey Johnson Facebook page to enter!  And don’t forget to include #BJTreasureHunt with every posting!

If you’re reading this Betsey, I sadly don’t have any of your vintage pieces, but I would really like a ticket to your NYFW show!

Bloggers Night Out & More Fashion Week Fun

It was a crazy Fashion Weekend for me last weekend!  Friday night, I reunited with old friends and met new blogger friends at Bloggers Night Out at The Caulfield followed a lovely Saturday morning at the press preview for Elettra Wiedemann’s pop-up restaurant, GOODNESS, with featured celebrity chef, Mario Batali.  Bloggers Night Out was a blast.  I drank Yazi ginger-flavored vodka cosmos as I tried on Sorrelli’s Avant Garde jewelry at the Sparkle Spot.  The picture to the left, shows me in the T.J. Maxx/Marshalls area where I found a glasses necklace that went perfectly with me outfit.  I wish it has been for sale because I totally would have bought it along with most of the things in the room.

For those of you who don’t know, GOODNESS is a four-day pop-up restaurant launched by model/philanthropist, Elettra Wiedemann, who is best known as the face of Lancome.  During New York Fashion Week, it provides healthy locally-sourced foods prepared by renown chefs to the sophisticated fashion community.

Blogger Bling!

What a find! I wish this T.J. Maxx Missoni number had been for sale.

Model, Elettra Wiedemann, founder of the GOODNESS pop-up kisses renown chef, Mario Batali

Environmentally-friendly, healthy, and fashionable.  I’ve really started to look forward to the GOODNESS pop-up every Fashion Week.

This Fashion Week Travel on Fashion Wheels

Keep your high heels on ladies because beginning today (Feb. 10th) New York branding and communications agency, The Promotion Factory, is providing fashionistas with a free ride to all the major shows at New York Fashion Week.  Keep an eye out for Fashion Wheels at Lincoln Center, Milk Studios, and everywhere in between.  They are also providing real time location updates on the @ThePromoFact Twitter using the hashtag #FashionWheels.

Looks like you won’t be needing a limo to ride around the city in style.  I’m so looking forward to not having to deal with cabs or subways while rushing around to all the shows and parties on my itinerary.  Plus, it’s going to be a blast bonding with fellow fashionistas and sharing our Fashion Week experiences on the bus.

Elettra Wiedemann & The Daily Front Row Launch GOODNESS Pop-up Restaurant During Fashion Week

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week has never been known for its gourmet cuisine.  When going from show to show to party to lounge during New York Fashion Week, it is often hard to find good food around Lincoln Center or any food at all for that matter.  On Saturday, for example, all I had to eat before 4 p.m. were two Belvedere screwdrivers.  It’s not that you have to make a conscious decision not to eat, it’s that there is virtually no food available at Fashion Week.  Thanks to a stoke of genius on the part of model/philanthropist,  Elettra Wiedemann, who is celebrating her sixth year as the face of Lancôme, is providing fashionistas with healthy, yet filling meals directly in the middle of the Fashion Week action at the pop-up restaurant, GOODNESS.  Here I am pictured with Elettra at the opening. Clearly, I am far too short to be a model. To put this project together, the renown model who is also a graduate of the London School of Economics, teamed up with Michelin star chef, Ed Brown, and the source of all things Fashion Week, The Daily Front Row.

Located in what is usually Ed’s Chowder House, GOODNESS is open from Sept. 11-14 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. serving both breakfast and lunch.  Everyday will feature a different chef.  Therefore, even if you are in the tents all week, you will get a different dining experience every time you visit GOODNESS.  All dishes are locally sourced and environmentally-friendly made special for those on a couture budget.  The menu is virtually split in two offering customers GOODNESS with a Touch of BADNESS.  I wish I could tell you what the food there tastes like, but in true Fashion Week style none was available at the press preview. To reserve your table visit GoodnessBadness.com.

It Gets Better Fashion Week Lounge at the Empire Hotel

Just had the best time supporting a good cause at the It Gets Better Project Fashion Week Lounge at the Empire Hotel sponsored by ELLE Magazine, Rue La La, and the Sundance Channel.  I was so honored to be invited to such a wonderful event for an equally wonderful cause.  For those aspiring it really does get better.

After I hit up the many flavors of air at the oxygen bar, Lilibeth did an amazing job on my eyebrows.  I even got my hair styled by Sue from the John Barrett Salon in a fun side braid.  Emmy Award winning makeup artist and all around fun person, KJ Bennett, brought out my blue eyes with his unmatched makeup techniques.  Thanks to KJ I’m all ready to go out tonight. The highlight of my morning/afternoon was signing the Rue La La wall with a special message for the It Gets Better Project. I’m so glad that I could do good this Fashion Week.

Be yourself and keep aspiring because it gets better!

KJ Bennett did an amazing job on my makeup. Plus, he was a lot of fun to work with. I’m all ready for my It Gets Better PSA!
