To find out what’s hot for fall 2013, Marshalls surveyed women all over the country to see what they envisioned themselves wearing this season. The results ranged from solid basics combined with statement designer pieces and the desire to take their boots and sweaters up a notch. I always get excited about the start of a new season (both in terms of fashion and the weather) so it was great to see a room filled with dark and sophisticated fall colors paired with exotic accents for the home.
Summer is the prime time for Holiday and Fall Previews. It’s ironic how somehow they all seem to land on the hottest days of the year leaving us bloggers and editors going through winter coats and sweaters in sundresses and sandals. At the Fall/Holiday 2013 Preview of American Rag and barIII that was certainly the case. While American Rag has a fun California appeal that had me picking out outfits for the next Coachella festival, barIII is a bit more Upper East Side and featured some amazing statement necklaces set to hit stores in the next few months. I’m particularly excited about American Rag’s new premium denim line making its debut this fall. The fit is absolutely amazing and at around $60 a pair, also incredibly affordable. BarIII also has its share of affordable pieces. All of the jewelry is priced well under $100. Both lines are exclusive to Macy’s.

This Friday February 8th at 6:00 p.m. I will be descending upon Lincoln Center to view Nicole Miller‘s Fall ’13 collection on the runway. The inspiration behind this collection is “Girls Who Dress Like Boys.” I can’t wait to see these timeless tomboy looks hit the runway complete with menswear-inspired patterns and subdued colors. As a preview for the show, I was sent these inspirational sketches as a teaser of what’s to come. Even if you won’t be at Fashion Week, you can still watch the show live with me.
