The Wisdom of Buddha

With the beautiful chaos of New York Fashion Week coming up, I’ve been attempting to relax and regroup as much as possible knowing that in a matter of weeks I will be making every attempt to be in two places at once. So in between picking out my outfits for the parties and shows, I look to ancient wisdom of Buddha to guide me through my mad life in Manhattan.  I’m not looking to give up all my worldly possessions anytime soon, but I can always appreciate being at peace with the present moment.

Here are some of my favorite quotes from Buddha that have taught me how to carry myself through my aspirational life:

“It’s better to travel well than to arrive.”

“Three things cannot be hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.”

“What we think, we become.”

“Chaos is inherent in all compounded things. Strive on with diligence.”

“Even death is not to be feared by one who has lived wisely.”

“You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.”
