Support Breast Cancer Awareness with Accessory Concierge

Accessory Concierge - Tough As Nails

With Breast Cancer Awareness Month just around the corner, it’s time to explore the many ways you can support this noble cause. Not just during the month of October, but throughout the year. As a woman, fashion blogger and human being, finding a cure for breast cancer is a cause very close to my heart. Though I never cease to be moved by the powerful stories of survival, it’s my hope that someday we find a cure for this devastating disease and all other forms of cancer.

That being said, it’s often difficult to know for sure what products claiming to be associated with Breast Cancer Awareness actually support breast cancer research and programs. Just because a product has a pink ribbon on it, doesn’t mean that the profits from it are actually supporting breast cancer victims or funding research. So it’s important to do a little research of your own to make sure you’re actually shopping for a cause.

When I came across a new line from Accessory Concierge in which 20% of the proceeds are being donated to the Breast Cancer Fund, I knew that I had to help spread the word. Aside from supporting a wonderful cause, the Fight Like a Girl Cuff, Here Comes a Fighter Cuff and the Tough As Nails Necklace are all stylish additions to your jewelry box. Whether you’re a survivor, friend of a survivor or simply want to help, you can wear these pieces with pride knowing that you made a difference.

BodyRock Sport Releases the Empower ‘Em Collection

As you probably already know from all of the pink ribbons around, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Both retailers and individuals themselves do great work not just this month, but all year around so that someday we will live in a breast cancer free world. I was very touched by BodyRock Sport’s release of the Empower ‘Em line this month containing the first post-mastectomy sports bra. Now, women who have conquered cancer can now also conquer the gym.

Though I’m lucky to not have experienced the tragedy of breast cancer in my family, I feel that it’s my duty as a digital public figure to create awareness of the issue.  BodyRock, founded by fitness and fashion guru, Kelly Dooley, has always been committed to bringing fashion to the world of fitness.  Socialites and celebrities alike are often photographed going to and from the gym so it’s important to be stylish while working out or at least color coordinated.  Aside from sexy styles that will have any woman feeling like Kim Kardashian at the gym, they also feature unique fabrics and distinctive embellishments with smart details, such as built-in ipod pockets, zippered compartments, and comfortable tagless labels.

Polo Ralph Lauren and Lord & Taylor Fight Breast Cancer

LAUREN PINK, a new line of sportswear and home products by Polo Ralph Lauren sold exclusively at Lord & Taylor, with a pre-party for some of NYC’s finest bloggers at their Fifth Ave. store.  A portion of the proceeds from the LAUREN PINK line will go to fight breast cancer. I simply can’t get enough of programs that combine charity with fashion.  In a way, they really go hand-in-hand.  While your style speaks volumes about your personality, the charities that you support are at the essence of your character. At the risk of sounding corny, the LAUREN PINK line of plush hoodies, sweaters, and blankets will bring warmth and comfort in more ways than one.  On top of introducing the LAUREN PINK line, Lord & Taylor donated $5 to the Pink Pony Fund for everyone who showed up to the event wearing pink, they donated another $5 for everyone who checked in on FourSquare (I need to get on that,) and yet another $5 for everyone who completed the World of Lauren trivia game.  Hats off to Polo Ralph Lauren and Lord & Taylor for supporting this cause in such a creative way!
