Pretty in Pink

Pretty in Pink was an excellent movie and it’s also a wonderful way to dress.  Pink is powerful so pink on pink really makes a statement.  With colorblocking being all the rage, I put together this fun look colorblocking different shades of pink, red, and orange, but mostly pink.  I’d love to wear something like this to one of the summer horse races either upstate or on Long Island that I fully plan on attending this summer.

Here’s How to Achieve this ‘Pretty in Pink’ Look:

1.  kate spade new york Baublebox Bib Necklace:  A very colorful ‘cherry on top’ of this entire outfit.  You can find this kate spade necklace at Zappos.  I would recommend keeping the rest of the accessories in this look to a minimum since this necklace is so prominent and the outfit is so bright.

2.  Gerbera Flats:  These fab fuchsia flats with adorable bows in the front fit true to size with their off red adjustable straps and are available at Anthropologie.

3.  BCBGMAXAZRIA Sleeveless Colorblock Dress:  Love the colorblocking elements in this BCBG jersey dress available at SHOPBOP.com.

4.  Marc by Marc Jacobs Colorblocked Top Handle Satchel:  Satchel bags are fun to carry and this purse compliments the dress perfectly.  Plus, it’s big enough the fit all your stuff.  This bag is currently sold at Zappos.

5.  La Mer Collections Neon Simple Wrap Watch:  Neon is so in for spring!  I’m obsessed with La Mer’s collection of watches that can be wrapped uniquely around your wrist with quality Italian leathers.  This watch is available at SHOPBOP.com.

Facebook Frenzy!

On the evening of September 30, 2010 while the rest of the world was anticipating the release of The Social Network starring Jesse Eisenberg, I was partying with NYC’s social media stars at the Facebook GeneratioNext Wrap Party having drinks on the tab of the real Mark Zuckerberg. The Facebook crew put on a huge soiree in celebration of Advertising Week and of course I was on the guest list. The event featured food, an open bar, and a breathtaking Cirque du Soleil performance. In order to impress the people I usually only interact with on Twitter, I spent big bucks on an amazing BCBG dress. It was totally worth the investment because I like to be seen in a stylish light by my friends and followers. There is a quote from The Social Network that I think totally encompasses the theme of this party, which goes, “We don’t know what it will be. We don’t know what it could be. All we know is that it is cool.”  Well, I have experienced for myself many times over what Facebook has become and I could not be more blown away. The website is truly an example of what aspiring to greatness and succeeding truly means. Can’t wait to see the movie!
