Lately, I’ve been feeling like something is missing from my wardrobe and I soon realized it was a supply of statement necklaces. Statement jewelry is not only all the rage, they’re also a great wardrobe investment that can add a personal flare to any outfit. But, they don’t have to be an investment at all. Though many dazzling statement pieces retail in the $400-$600 range, there are plenty of adorable statement pieces for under $50 and even as low as under $20. In my world, tightening your belt means going on a relaxing diet cleanse at a faraway spa and coming back 10 pounds lighter. But, in the real world where I currently reside, it means trying to do more with less which is often necessary, but never fun. Memorial Day is this weekend and chances are you will be kicking off summer 2012 at an outdoor party somewhere. I usually save the red, white, and blue for the Fourth of July, but you can totally go the patriotic route if you’d like. Here are two fab Memorial Day looks that just may make this weekend your most fashionable three-day weekend yet:
1. Theme Ready or Nautical Dress: This sea breeze dress is the perfect summer ensemble that’s bound to flatter your figure while paying homage to summers of the shores of Maine.
Brights and neons have been everywhere lately. Standout colors such as yellow and orange that have been traditionally hard to wear are especially hot right now. The trick to wearing these colors without looking crazy is to embrace and own the color. No matter how bright and bold it is, never let it wear you. At the same time, don’t be afraid to wear brights upon brights. Lastly, accessorize with both neons and understated colors.
I am by no means anywhere close to getting married or even engaged. However, being the organized efficient socialite that I am, I’m all about planning ahead. So today, I decided to go bridal and plan out the perfect bridal shower/engagement party outfit. All that’s missing is my future Harry Winston sparkler.
2. kate spade new york Bridal Passport Holder: It’s never too early to find that perfect something blue for the wedding. Plus, you’ll obviously need a stylish passport holder for your honeymoon getaway. Love the golden detail celebrating your newlywed life.
3. Lovely Lace Dress: This ivory-toned lace jersey dress with white lining and ruching on the skirt will give your guests a preview of the blushing bride in white without giving too much away.
