Carol Brodie Namesake Collection for HSN Preview

Earlier this week, I attended the preview of Carol Brodie’s Namesake Collection of opulent home and fashion accessories sold exclusively on HSN.  Since I aspire to live everyday as if it were an opulent affair, I love this classy collection designed to ward off haters.  When Carol Brodie thanked everyone for joining her at the Soho House for her collection’s preview, she explained the significance behind the evil eye present in most of her jewelry in home designs.  It’s meant to ward off the haters who want to bring you down when you’re on your way up.  Though you need your haters because if you don’t have them you’re not making enough of a dent in the universe, like Carol, I prefer the company of my love circle to my hate circle and I’m proud to call myself a member of this collection’s love circle.  I also must say that the evil eye cupcakes were a delicious touch and that her candles smell amazing.

Can’t get enough of warding off haters with Carol Brodie’s signature evil eye

Sparkly Socialite Pillows!

MCM Spring/Summer 2013 Showroom Preview

Having long been obsessed with the vintage style designs and amazing quality leathers of the European handbag line, MCM, I was so excited to have been invited to their Spring/Summer 2013 Press Preview.  With all the charm and quality of a 1970s vintage Gucci and the classic design of a Louis Vuitton, an MCM should be in the closet of every socialite.  I’m a huge fan of their classic designs in cognac.  MCM SS13’s sophisticated neutral tones with elegantly contrasting bright hues and metallic accents pays tribute to the 1970s Munich heydays and the idea that one should always travel in style.

This collection retails for $600-$1500 with speciality pieces up to $2500.  MCM is available at select Saks Fifth Ave, Bloomingdales, and speciality boutiques along with The Shops at The Plaza.

Love this wallet I got! Thanks MCM!

Divas really do start at an early age. Beyonce’s daughter, Blue Ivy, received this bag as a gift from the brand. Many fashion journalist at last week’s showroom event, suggested they also gift one to Suri Cruise.

Rocker style studded bags and accessories made for the dark side in every socialite. If you look very closely, you can see my reflection in the glass of the framed photo.

The Ryan Lochte Bag! He wore it to one of his events at the London Olympics.  I’ve totally had a crush on him since Beijing 2008.

Monogram Mania

Personalization is the key to uniqueness.  Though everyone has their signature style, sometimes getting key pieces in your wardrobe monogrammed can add an extra level of personalization and character.  Being distinguished is all part of being a socialite so it’s up to you to find new ways to constantly distinguish yourself.  Monogrammed items also make great gifts that are sure to make anyone feel important.  Here are some of my favorite customizable items:

1.  Danielle Stevens Monogram Bracelet: This elegant gold plated bracelet with beautiful lettering is perfect for everyday wear.

2.  BaubleBar Twitter-Plate Necklace: As a digital diva, this is by far my favorite item in this group.  It’s a great twist on the classic name-plate for the social media socialite.  Allow up to five weeks for delivery.

3.  RUGBY Make Your Own Striped Dress:  RUGBY by Ralph Lauren is by far one of the preppiest brands around.  So it’s no wonder I’m a fan of their Ivy League status styles.  You can customize this classic country club look with a selection of patches and monograms on the chest and back.  Another must-have for the Greenwich Girl in every Park Ave. Princess.

4.  BaubleBar Acrylic Monogram: A classic vintage charm in modern neon.

5.  West Avenue Jewelry Block Monogram Earrings: An adorable pair of block letter studs in gold.  Very chic.

6.  Christie Martin Jewelry Three Discs: This incredibly customizable piece is said to be a favorite of celebrities such as Cameron Diaz, Beyonce, and Mariah Carey.  I think it’s cute when people put the names and birthdays of their kids on these.

A Classy Cameo

It’s every Aspiring Socialite’s dream to make a cameo appearance in a feature film. Lately, however, there’s been another kind of cameo on my mind.  Tons of cameo jewelry and accessories have been appearing all over vintage and department stores alike.  This classic isn’t just for grandma’s broach anymore.  It’s on necklaces, rings, charm bracelets and earrings.  This trend even has me wanting to buy up a bunch of vintage cameos and make them into a charm bracelet to create the ultimate one of a kind piece.  But, there’s no reason I should have all the fun.

Here are 6 amazing cameos that are bound to add a classically modern flare to a variety of looks:

1.  Mia & Beverly Cameo Charm Bracelet A charming handcrafted combination of vintage trends.

2.  Cameo Locket Pendant:  This lovely pendent adds a lovely Victorian quality to any outfit.

3.  Tarina Tarantino Pink Cameo Mod Ring:  Another component of beautiful handmade luxury.  Love the hot pink.

4.  Tarina Tarantino Acid Cameo Drop Earrings with Lucite in Argon:  These edgy yet classic earrings really demand attention.

5.  So Glad You Cameo Earrings:  I’m dying to see these with an elegant little black dress.

6.  Oxidized-silver Cornelian Shell & Diamond Skull Cameo Ring:  Not every cameo is girly and sweet.  This one has quite the McQueen quality.
