2011 Happy New Year Socialites!!

The year 2011 is finally here and as an Aspiring Socialite I can’t wait to see what adventures the New Year has in store for me. In 2010, after starting this blog in February, I received personal invitations to Fashion Week, the MONET showroom, and exclusive Lord & Taylor events, but my journey to stardom has just begun. The arrival of 2011 means an entire year of new parties, fashions, and philanthropic endeavors. Will leggings stay in style or become “so last year?  I’m thinking they will be in fashion for years to come. I don’t believe in New Year’s resolutions, but it is my hope that more people will discover this blog the way thousands did in 2010 and get inspired to take charge of their lives through shameless self-promotion. So if you haven’t already, make it your 2011 New Year’s Resolution to stop eating your humble pie and go on a diet.

Reese Witherspoon Looking Glamorous on the Cover of Glamour

Ever since her outstanding performances in the socialite classics, Legally Blonde and Cruel Intentions, Reese Witherspoon has held the coveted spot as my all-time favorite actress.  Her blonde hair and heartwarming smile make her not only, America’s Sweetheart, but a global icon.  Therefore, she is the perfect cover girl to ring in the New Year gracing the cover page of the January 2011 issue of Glamour.  Reese, looking red hot in a Burberry Prorsum dress that I totally want to snag for New Year’s Eve, told the magazine how her ambitions have changed since Legally Blonde, “My ambition has sort of broadened. I’m more interested in literature, art, public policy. And I’m really interested in doing more philanthropic endeavors.”  As an aspiring socialite, I feel that my ambitions have taken a similar turn since this blog went live in February 2010. Though party crashing and high fashion are still very much on the agenda, I also plan on using my social media power to promote social good with the addition of philanthropic endeavors I will be executing in 2011.  During my senior year of college when I prepared for change by making a change, I dyed my hair blonde inspired in part by the looks of Reese Witherspoon.  I have since dyed it back, but now, my favorite Hollywood star is inspiring me not to change my hair color, but to change the world.
