Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: The Best of What’s Left in Beauty

They say that each day has a high and a low and August 6, 2017 is no exception. If you’ve managed to stay away from the spoilers, tomorrow a much awaited episode of Game of Thrones will be released. However, it’s also the last day of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (free shipping – yay). Since so many amazing deals already sold out weeks ago, I rounded up some of my favorite beauty exclusives that are still in stock. Be sure to stock up by tomorrow because come August 7th everything goes back up to full price.

Mario Badescu The Icons Home & Away CollectionMario Badescu The Icons Home & Away Collection $32 (After Sale: $46)

I swear by this collection. It’s worth it alone for the drying lotion. It basically erases pimples overnight. I didn’t believe it at first, but when I used it I truly witnessed a miracle. I also love that it comes with both full and travel sizes.

Antica Prosecco Diffuser Set

Antica Farmacista Prosecco Diffuser Duo $66 (After Sale: $132)

This beautiful fragrance pair has a crisp and celebratory scent. I especially love the white birch reeds because they remind me of New England.

Sisley Paris The Best Sellers Set

Sisley Paris The Best Sellers Set $250 (After Sale: $412)

This Sisley mask is great for all skin types and leaves your skin feeling as flawless as the day you were born. It’s also super expensive. So this might be your last chance to get it at a discount. It’s totally worth it!

Bobbi Brown Nude Glow Eye & Cheek Palette

Bobbi Brown Nude Glow Eye & Cheek Palette $98 (After Sale: $365)

Every girl (or guy) has got to have their neutrals. This is the perfect on-the-glow palette for a spectacular everyday look.

Philosophy Amazing Grace Trio

Philosophy Amazing Grace Trio $38 (After Sale: $61)

I’m currently using this body wash and I absolutely love it. It smells great and the bottle is huge so it should last me a while.

Central Park South Style

Vicky Sullivan Levi's GiGi New York

It may not seem like it at first, but a summer stroll along Central Park South is actually a great way to clear your head. Once you drown out the sea of people, cars and general Midtown craziness, being where the city ends and nature begins is truly amazing. There’s something to be said for the in between. It’s kind of the best of both worlds and that’s where we can find ourselves.

For my summer stroll I wore a dress from, my Levi’s Authentic Trucker JacketBetsey Johnson Sunglasses, GiGi New York Catie Crossbody Blackberry Embossed Python Bag and Swedish Hasbeens – Cross Strap Debutant Women’s Sandals.

I know I’ve said this so many times, but Swedish Hasbeens are the ideal shoe for the city in the summer. Wearing flip flops on the streets of Manhattan is gross, it’s too hot to wear closed toe shoes and heels are impossible to walk in. Swedish Hasbeens give you the height you need to stay a safe distance from the city streets without the pain of heels.

Summer in Maine

Maine isn’t just a place. It’s a state of being. I’ve vacationed in Maine ever since I was a kid and I would spend all summer there if I could.

Cape Neddick Light Maine

My fiance and I went to a beautiful wedding in Wells, Maine and I finally got to go back. I’ve been dreaming about the Maine coast ever since. While we stayed in Wells, we also got to visit York and Ogunquit. Above is a photo of the Cape Neddick Lighthouse in York. It’s known as one of the most beautiful views of the ocean in the world. I’m sure it’s inspired many people (including myself) to look into a summer house in Maine.

At York Beach we visited my aunt’s new condo and I broke out my California Waves Rose and Shine One-Piece Swimsuit for the occasion. I swear that swimsuit was made for me and made for Maine. After spending the day in York, we headed over to Ogunquit to walk the Marginal Way, a paved path along the ocean with breathtaking views. Then we had dinner in Perkins Cove. In true Maine spirit, my fiance ordered the lobster. Then he immediately realized he had no idea how to eat one. Me being a lifelong vegetarian didn’t know either. So it was pretty funny watching him try. Luckily, the people at the restaurant helped him out. I think he’ll stick to lobster rolls from now on.

For the wedding I tried Rent The Runway for the first time and loved it. I rented the Cinq à Sept Burgundy Valle Dress. You can rent it here, but if you want to buy it you can find it on Revolve. Let’s face it we all need options.

Until next time Maine! We’ve always made a great pair.

Why Matcha is My New Thing

I recently fell in love with the iced matcha and macadamia milk latte at Cha Cha Matcha on Broome St. I’m obsessed with their pretty pink and green decor and have been ordering this signature green latte ever since.

Matcha Latte Cha Cha Matcha

For those of you that aren’t familiar with matcha, it’s a finely ground green tea powder originally from Japan. It’s an acquired taste, but after one or two lattes you’ll be hooked. The macadamia milk is naturally sweet so you get that ice cream taste without the harmful effects of added sugar. So it’s good and good for you. If you’re in NYC I highly recommend stopping by Cha Cha Matcha. Your caffeine craving and your Instagram will thank you!

An NYC Staycation!

Helix Sleep Mattress Loomstead Bedding The Garret East

Last weekend I joined The Staycationers for a once in a lifetime NYC staycation made possible by Loomstead (their Linen 3-Piece Duvet Set is pictured above), Helix Sleep and Free People. Since the dress code was pajamas, I broke out my Pink Watercolor Floral Silky Kimono Robe for the occasion. Thanks to the heat, humidity and my desperate need for a haircut, my hair was a mess the whole time. Somehow, however, my mess of a hairdo went really well with the pajama theme. While I went to get a haircut right after the event, sometimes the universe just gives you what you need in the strangest ways.

We had a great time eating snacks, enjoying glasses of Ruffino Prosecco and getting makeovers by Nomi Beauty.  In true 90s sleepover fashion there was even a ouija board. My psychic told me not to play with them and I didn’t. But, that doesn’t mean I wasn’t tempted.
