Winter Must-Haves

I’m a fan of snow, skiing and log cabins. But, generally I’m not a fan of winter. Just like anything else, cold weather can be made awesome with the right outfits and accessories. Here are two that have made the cold months a little more chic for me.

Michael Kors Faux Fur-Trimmed Belted Puffer Coat

I’m obsessed with my Michael Kors Faux Fur-Trimmed Belted Puffer Coat. I was going to get a Canada Goose coat, but I didn’t have a grand to burn so I got this one (for under $200) and I love it. Canada Goose coats are everywhere, but this one has a more original look.

A belted puffer jacket will change your life.  No longer will you feel like you’re living in a ski jacket on those cold days when the puffer is all you can wear in the city. The belt makes it stylish and fun.

Homesick Los Angeles Candle

The next thing that has kept me warm in the New York cold is my Homesick Los Angeles Candle. You don’t have to be from L.A. to miss L.A.  I’m from Delaware, I live in New York City and I’ve only been to the West Coast a handful of times. But, I like to say that my heart is in New York and my soul is in Los Angeles. So this Homesick candle is perfect for an East Coast girl (often described as “so-L.A”) missing the sun in the City of Angels.

Savannah Bachelorette Party Highlights!

Disclaimer: I’ve been a bad blogger. I haven’t updated my blog in forever, but I’m catching up and I can’t wait to share the adventures I’ve had including getting married!! Here are some highlights from my bachelorette weekend.

Savannah Ghost ToursSavannah ghost tour! I love all things horror so of course we did this as soon as we got off the plane.

Savannah was totally the ideal place to have a bachelorette party. Every is so quaint, it’s super cheap compared to New York and there are tons of bars and things for a chic group of girls to do. Plus, the Southern hospitality it totally on point. People even yell marriage advice to you from across the street when they see you and your bachelorette crew walking by. Here are some of my most memorable moments down south with the girls. I felt to loved all weekend!

My bachelorette party in Savannah was the perfect long weekend with the girls. My bridesmaids were seriously little Martha Stewarts the way they decorated the townhouse, set the table and created a beautiful mimosa bar. I’m so thankful for such an amazing weekend. All of the activities and decor were so well thought out. Ian and I met at Syracuse University and their mascot is Otto the Orange. So everything was citrus. All of these party ideas would totally work for a bridal shower too!

Taiyaki NYC: The Joy of Japanese Ice Cream

As you probably already know, I’m always about town looking for the most Instagramable spots. Sweets and/or cocktails usually do the trick. You saw me explore the Flour Shop, sip matcha at Cha Cha Matcha and get the most adorable latte ever at Sweet Moment NYC.  Now I’ve finally experienced Taiyaki NYC, the home of authentic Japanese Ice Cream.

Taiyaki NYC Ice Cream

I’m obsessed with the fish waffle cones, unicorn shapes and green tea flavors. It’s totally worth the trip to Chinatown for a delicious ice cream and sweet Instagram and Insta story. Bring a camera and a friend.

A Witchy October Weekend in Salem

The Witch House Halloween in Salem

Witchy weekends in Salem are what October is all about! They don’t call it Witch City for nothing. This little New England village is filled with history, paranormal pop culture and everything a Halloween/horror enthusiast like myself could ask for. I went a couple weekends ago with my cousin and if I didn’t already have plans to go to Denver I would totally go back next weekend for the Witch City Film Festival. The black house you see me in front of is known as The Witch House. But, no witches actually lived there. It was the home of Judge Jonathan Corwin and is the only structure still standing in Salem with direct ties to the Salem witch trials. He sentenced 19 people to die during the witch trials. All of which proclaimed their innocence until the very end.

I visited a psychic that had some amazing predictions (apparently 2019 and 2020 are going to be very lucrative years for me). I also stopped by my favorite witch store Hauswitch. Witch City really is a beautiful town, especially in the fall. It’s basically a real life Halloweentown! I felt like everyone should be walking around singing “This is Halloween” like in The Nightmare Before Christmas. I’m obsessed with Halloween so naturally I feel right at home in Salem and more like myself dressed like I’m about to make a cameo in The Craft.

At the end of the weekend, my cousin asked me if I wanted to go to a Fleetwood Mac concert with her in March and of course I said yes because I already have an outfit. My spooky Stevie Nicks-inspired look consists of this BB Dakota 9-To-5 Chiffon Tie Neck Dress in Black, Spanx Faux Leather LeggingsCrescent Moon Pendant, and Tahari Corbin Over-The-Knee Boots.

If you’re looking to visit yourself I highly recommend it. Salem is small so it’s easy to find your own way around and get into something witchy right away. October is crazy so I highly suggest taking the train in from Boston if you’re visiting before Halloween so you don’t have to park a mile away. You also may want to visit the museums in the offseason too as the lines out front are crazy scary this time of year. Until next year Salem!
