Home Sweet Home

One of my biggest achievements of 2016 was decorating my new apartment in Astoria. After almost a decade of living with a college futon, I finally have real adult furniture and I’ve never been happier! I was originally going for a boho chic California look, but as we all know, art evolves. I still think it has some California vibes which are much-needed in New York City.

Without further ado, here’s where I found the pieces that make my new living room the coziest place I’ve ever lived. The plush couch is from Bob’s Furniture. The rug is the Mohawk Home Soho Fancy Trellis Navy Area Rug from Overstock. The pillows are the Trellis Throw Pillow and Bear Lumbar Pillow from Wayfair. The throw blanket is the Zaire Handloom Modern Cotton Throw also from Wayfair. The Soule Coffee Table brings the room together. I love that you can fit so many different decorations and aspects of your personality on it. I decorated it with the Stone Buddha With Candleholder by World MarketAmazonian Rain Medallion Stamped Lid Jar Candle by World Market and the Tuberose Gardenia Apothecary Jar Candle.

  • Your apartment looks lovely! I know exactly what you mean by “adult” furniture – this year I threw out my old coffee table (a hand me down) and replaced it with a nice West Elm coffee table. Did the same thing with my sofa – it instantly makes me feel happier to come home to these new items.
