Emotions Run Wild at The Museum of Feelings

Everyone in New York is talking about a newly iconic museum and it isn’t the MoMa. It’s the Museum of Feelings – essentially a living mood ring located in Battery Park whose vivid colors reflect the ever changing mood of New York City.

Museum of Feelings

Inside there are several rooms each representing distinct feelings through lights and mood altering scents provided by Glade. The aromas chosen were absolutely perfect and even altered by mood faster and better than the uniquely beautiful surroundings.

This interactive pop up is open until Dec. 15th and best of all it’s free.  However, expect to wait in line. I got to the museum 15 minutes before it opened on Sunday December 6th and still waited just under two hours to get in. If you can swing it, the best time to go is around 11am on a weekday when most people are at work. Though there will be a wait, I can tell you that it’s worth it. As soon as you enter the Museum of Feelings, your mind clears, everyday stress is left behind and you immediately begin to feel joyful and whimsical once again.

Creeds Collective Summer of Creeds Beach House Party

Over the weekend, Creeds Collective, an influencer community centered around ethical, eco-friendly and charitable fashion and beauty brands invited me to their Summer of Creeds event on Long Island. It was great to get out of the city and spend a day at a fabulous Long Beach beach house connecting with fellow bloggers and experiencing the amazing things sustainable brands are doing. Together we’re making the fashion and beauty industries even more beautiful for the next generation. Here’s what went down!

Obsessed with this summer manicure by PH7 Nail Couture, a sustainable salon in Brooklyn that uses only natural polishes. The violet color is by RGB Cosmetics and the sparkles are Deborah Lippmann.

Get Wickd Custom Candles

I fell in love with these custom soy candles by Get Wickd. I need one now!  You can send them your own bottles to make into candles and they also recycle bottles from restaurants and turn them into beautiful candles.

Get Wickd Custom Soy Candles

If you have a special bottle you drank out of at your wedding, birthday or other celebration Get Wickd can turn it into an amazing candle for your home. This is also a great way to surprise a friend after partying with them.  Can you see why I’m obsessed?

Being Touristy!

tourist

For two years running, my Mom has come up for Delaware to New York City for her birthday. I guess now you can call it a tradition. This year, we decided to be super touristy and take both a bus and boat tour of Manhattan. I would absolutely recommend the boat tour or at least taking a boat cruise around the Hudson River (which I plan to try next). However, the bus tour was at best okay. Even as a tourist you see most of the places walking anyway and the tour guide was super annoying. What I liked most about the boat tour is that you could see the city from a whole new prepective and get see the Statue of Liberty up close at sunset.

Early Spring in Central Park

Central-Park

There’s that time of year in New York when in spite of the fact that there are still a few cold days and nights ahead, you trade in your black winter bag for a brighter spring bag to spend an afternoon seeing Central Park in early bloom.  Recently, I took a spring stroll in Central Park with my Dad and I couldn’t help, but shoot tons of pictures of the park in its early spring glory.  I only hope this summer isn’t as brutally hot as the last one.

Pi Phi Reunion Brunch at Revel

Pi-Beta-Phi-Brunch-Revel-NYC

Saturday afternoon, after a glorious morning of sleeping in, I met my Pi Beta Phi sorority sisters for a long overdue reunion at Revel in NYC’s Meatpacking District.  Revel has long been one of my favorite brunch spots for it’s pitchers of bottomless mimosas and chic decor making it the perfect place for a Pi Phi reunion.  It was wonderful to see my Pi Phi girls again and to hear what everyone has been up to since we formed ties of wine and silver blue so long ago at 210 Walnut Place under the veil of Syracuse Orange.
