Are PajamaJeans Hot or Not?

PajamaJeans are the hottest infomercial sensation since the SnuggieWhat looks like denim, but feels like PJs?  It’s PajamaJeans, the hottest infomercial sensation since the Snuggie.  As an avid late night television viewer, I have been informed and entertained many times over by the infomercials for PajamaJeans.  After the WTF factor wore off, I got out my credit card and ordered a pair.  Being a socialite is all about having it all and that means always having the best of both worlds.  So it is about time that style met comfort.  It’s almost like my True Religion jeans and American Apparel leggings came together to create the pants of the future.

Call me crazy for actually buying my very own pair of PajamaJeans, but contrary to popular belief, socialites don’t always live in formal gowns and party dresses.  While the average person believes they have found status after they roll up to a trendy nightclub dressed to the nines in sequins and 6-inch stilettos, wait in line for half an hour, and finally get table service.  That is fabulous and all, but only a true socialite can enter the hottest nightclub effortlessly without bothering to change from her yoga class and cross the velvet robes in a matter of seconds with hardtails and zero makeup just because of who they are.  Prestige is by far a socialite’s greatest accessory and once you have it, you have nothing to prove.  So aspire to fame before fortune and once you have it, just do whatever you want.

A Very Plaid Winter

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the craze for plaid blouses and shirtdresses have made their way from last winter into this one.  From Bloomingdales to Forever 21, rustic-inspired plaids have returned to the mainstream to keep us warm and stylish as the temperature drops.  If you still think plaids are only for lumberjacks, remember that in high society nothing is ever as it seems.  After all, a rustic Adirondack vacation in a so-called “log cabin” can have all the features of a 5-star hotel and more.  For this reason, us New Yorkers choose to accompany plaids with our choice of leggings or skinny jeans tucked into over the knee boots.  This uniquely spun mix of the metropolitan and the provincial is quickly becoming a classic among prepsters.  I personally am in the market for a festive red plaid shirtdress to wear at my appearances at this year’s holiday parties.

For those of you looking to add a new plaid shirtdress to your wardrobe, consider this Gauze Plaid Shirt Dress (pictured left) by kensie on sale for only $39.00.

Dorky Fashion: Social Network Sneakers by Adidas

I know these shoes are flat and on top of that they are sneakers.  If you are expecting to find Prada or Louis Vuitton please go to another post immediately because it is all flip flops and hoodies here.  In a world dominated by social networking, divas have essentially become dorks.  My dorky side is completely obsessed with Adidas new line of social network themed sneakers.  The “you can’t buy just one pair of shoes” rule totally applies here because as a blogger aspiring to online fame, I am almost always on Facebook and Twitter at the same time promoting my ever so glamorous socialite agenda.  Therefore, I need both pairs of shoes to accurately express my daily life.  If I really wanted to take a major fashion risk I could purposely mismatch my shoes wearing a different one on either foot stylishly expressing the act of constantly being on two social networks at once.  Who knows?  That look could go viral and become the next fashion craze.  It is ironic that in the mist of my determined pursuit of high fashion and leisure, I rediscovered my inner geek.  The other day, I even wrote I line of code as I watched the epic movie, Troy, and drank a Red Bull which is a total geek move if you ask me.  I also plan on reading The Facebook Effect in the hope that it will help me think more like an Internet entrepreneur.  Just as every fashionista should know their Coach from their Gucci they should also know their HTML from their JavaScript.

To UGG or Not to UGG? That is the Question

November is upon us making it officially winter coat and boot weather.  Though socialites may be able to buy an endless supply of stylishly warm boots to be worn over leggings and skinny jeans, no amount of privilege can keep you away from the winter winds.  But, when it comes to staying warm and stylish during this time of year, every fashionista must ask themselves this same age old or should I say New Age question: Are UGGs hot or not? Though the brand has evolved from the Classic Tall and Short, to dressier styles such as the Highkoo II that I currently have my eye on, UGG will always possess the elements of casual luxury.  I am also in the market for a warm pair of moccasins.

Though some say that UGGs have gone out of style, I completely disagree.  However, I am bias having graduated from Syracuse University where UGGs allowed me to keep my toes from frostbite during the bitterly cold, yet beautiful white winters, I believe that feelings warm and snug will always be in style.  Plus, every UGG boot you see plays homage to their early adopters iconic socialites, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie.  As a result of UGG’s recent collaboration with Jimmy Choo, now you can have the best of both words.  Tamara Mellon, Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Jimmy Choo revealed that the only shoes she has in her wardrobe besides Jimmy Choos are UGGs.  This genius collaboration is the ultimate combination of comfort and glitz.  So go ahead, UGG it out.
