Blue Ivy Carter & Other Socialite Baby Names

Unless you’ve been living on Mars or are currently incarcerated in solitary confinement, you know that Beyonce and Jay-Z welcomed a baby girl into the world over the weekend named Blue Ivy Carter. I’m so happy for them and I can’t wait to finally see the pictures they’ve been hiding from us. Blue Ivy certainly is a unique name. Celebrity children are some of the most unique people ever. So it’s no wonder they get crazy names like Apple, Harlow, Phinneaus, and Honor Marie. Though I’m not looking to have kids anytime soon, the birth of Blue Ivy Carter has got me thinking about what I will someday name my future socialite children.

Now, I know you’re not supposed to reveal your baby names after Charlotte from Sex and the City got the name Shayla stolen from under her, but seeing that I love and trust all of you so much, I’m going to share my dream baby names with you.  I was named after Queen Victoria (my mom was a huge fan of the Victoria Era;) so I really like the idea of doing something off of that so I’m going to name my first daughter London. It goes along with the whole British theme. If I have another daughter, I would like to name her Karma. This will make my family dynamic a perfect mix of east and west.

As for the boys, I like the names Conor and Holden. Conor was supposedly going to be my name had I been a boy. My dad was inspired by the Trinity protagonist, Conor Larkin. I also love the name Holden after Holden Caulfield from J.D. Salinger’s The Catcher in the Rye because I also hate it when people are phony and I’m artsy enough to name a child after that character.  Seeing that I only want to have two children, I won’t be able to use all these names, but it’s fun to think about.  I know it’s only a matter of time before I have a little Suri Cruise of my own, but like I said before, it’s going to be years before that happens.  Just to clarify and avoid rumors, I am by no means pregnant.

  • Always fun and amazing to see what celebrities name their children! We think it would be an interesting article to find some of them when they are 10 years old and 15 years old to ask them if they like their names!
As for our own children…we’ve often thought it would be great fun to name then strong names like Joe, Adam, Megan, Elizabeth. It will be fun to see what this year’s new #1 name will be.
Thanks for sharing your fun ideas with us!

    • Yes, that would be really interesting. I would really like to know if they like their names later in life. I want my kids’ names to be unique, but not crazy.
