There’s no place I’d rather be in the summer than Maine. This time instead of visiting the coast of Maine I spent a glorious weekend on a lake. The lakes in Maine are great because unlike the ocean, most are warm enough to swim in. This particular lake is Milton Pond in Lebanon, Maine.
I went tubing on this lake for the first time as a kid. This summer I returned for a family reunion. It was so great catching up with everyone and floating around with my sister (pictured below). I also went paddleboarding for the first time ever. It’s way easier than it looks, but I’m sure it would have been a lot harder had it been on the ocean with waves.
The serenity of a New England lake never ceases to amaze me. Now that I live in New York City, I need these visits more than ever.
